500:1 contrast ratio is pretty low, even for a budget LCD FP

A friend of mine has a Proview 32" LCD (600:1 contrast ratio), and while I haven't been over to check it out, he says he likes my Viewsonic 32" n3250 (800:1 contrast ratio) much better. He's not very tech savvy, so I didn't feel like trying to get any specifics out of him, but I do know he paid more than I did for the Viewsonic (I paid approx. $1005 shipped).

I basically bought the Viewsonic strictly for my 360, and I'm happy with it.
