if you can go $1000 take a look at 50ish~inch rear projection hdtvs, sure not to disappoint

sears has a sale on a hitachi 51inch with hdmi(with hdcp) atsc ota and cable card, silver tv for $1100, alternatively theres cheaper RCAs(not really bad, actually looked better out of the box to me)and lower end toshibas without any cable tuners

shit for $1200 you can get a 60inch phillips projection....i couldnt comment on the sets quality though

if your staying in the direct view market next step up would be a ks30xs955 sony which is the highest resolution direct view crt to date(same tube as the professional XBR series)

hahaha, that would be great, but this is for my bedroom. My room is already cluttered with enough stuff, the last thing I need is a 50 or 60 inch tv in it...and my chair is about 5 feet from the tv and my bed is about 4. I would have to stand against the wall on the other side of the room to even see the whole screen without hurting my eyes. But thanks for the advise anyways.

I think i've finally decided on getting a LCD for its weight. I know it might not be as great as a CRT, but anything is a step up from the crappy 26" sanyo CRT with no component in/outputs

meh, i dont care for lcds and i wish the tech would !)*$&!)($(!&$)!(* die already, i say stay with your original choice or go with a 30xs955
