Hdtv Help

Hi

I am looking to purchase a HDTV tube crt, smaller TV. (I still have my 52" SDTV working so can't justify spending 1000s)

The only Tube HDTVs i see are 480p * 1080i or 580p & 1080i

I know the 360 outputs are 780p, what will my display look like at 1080i? I know 1080i is better resolution than 720p but no progressive scan

1080i will look fine.  You can set the 360's output to 1080i while not enabling 720p to upscale the resolution.
Tube TVs do not natively display 720p (though some accept the 720p signal), but not to worry.  I set my 360 up on a friends 1080i CRT and it looked fantastic.  I played Halo2 (actually in 480p), COD2, and Madden 2006.  They all looked great and ran perfectly.

RECOMMENDATIONS & NOTES
However attractive its relatively slim (16-inch) depth, this HD set's picture was only fair across the board; there are better choices. An integrated HDTV, it can receive over-the-air digital TV signals, without the need for an external decoder, if the signal reception is good enough. Sound quality was very good, as with most of the HD sets we tested. Its unlighted remote control, while otherwise very good, can be hard to use in dim lighting.

These 2 resources ended up being the reason I stopped looking at this set. sad.gif

Hopefully your display is awesome!  Enjoy HD smile.gif
