Composite With Scart Adapter?
« on: January 05, 2006, 10:55:00 AM »

composite + scart adapter == composite

A scart connector is just one big connector which has a lot of pins to support a lot of different formats (composite, s-video, rgb component). So using a scart adapter to input a composite signal is the same as just inputting composite. You cannot get anything bettter out of it then what yout put in. If you buy the RGB scart cable you're inputting RGB component which is superieur to composite, theorically speaking.

No it isnt scart is scart no matter what source is connected to the back of the scart.

if we could have HDTV via scart we wouldnt have connections for composite and scart only scart,

if u connect ur composite to the back of the scart it will not be in HDTV on the TV,

The connection specs run like this best quality first.

HDMI
DVI
Component Video
S-Video
RGB Scart
Scart
Component Video
RF - (old antenna aerial).

Composite is the yellow job isnt it.

That is poo like rf basically

if u bang it into the scart header then into the tv it wont be in RGB thats why they sell a specific fully wired RGB scart cable.

If u dont have a HDTV then the RGB Scart is the best image u can get but u need a new cable to produce RGB.

This is what u want

i spacked up above cos i get confused with component and composite...  blink.gif
