just had another look at the specs modelis rp4202s

found a review of it http://www.homecinem...p?reviewid=2983
It says in the review that it wouldnt except a progressive feed from a dvd player, but it does support progressive input. Does that mean if i get my self a vga cable i will get progressive?

Also it says that it can do 720p 1080i, but the tv can only do 852x480. what will happen if i chuck it a 720p feed, will it just look the same as 480p?

you gotta look in the manual to see what type of resolution it supports for PC input. and yes, VGA will/should be progressive.

you should just try it in the dash, if it doesn't work, after about 5 seconds it will reset.

far as i know most, if not all, UK plasma (HD or not) has max resolution of 825x480, and LCD has max 1360x768. HDTV has transcoder built-in which up/down scale the resolution size to your TV's max resolution.

my tv just automatically sets itself to 480p with the hd cable set to hdtv

do you have the same TV?
