I have a RCA HDTV 52" widescreen projection.  Its 480p /1080i support.  doesn't support 720p.  Guess im stuck with 1080i until i can buy that 40" lcd i want.

I have a 55inch Phillips rear projection and it DEFINITELY looks better in 1080i than 720p, I'm guessing that those people who see it looking worse have bad/badly setup TV's?

this is interesting... maybe size has something to do with it. Mine is a 3o" Sony CRT. I could have swore 720p looked better to me. My tv is properly calibrated...

I will look into this again and report back smile.gif

ok i hooked my 360 up to my 46 hd toshiba projection tv, it only does 1080i,

i have had it hooked to my 30 wide screen hd insignia tube tv it displays 720p 1080i, 420p

when hooked to the toshiba in 1080i it looks a lot better, not only games but the control panel, when the xbox boots and it shows the logo, on my insignia at 720p it isnt all that smooth, and words in white are blurry looking in the corners,

on the tohiba 1080i, the logo and letters are peerfect no rufnes at all, looks just like the cpu screen i am typingon now.

i will put back on my 30 insignia and recalibrate color picture etc, it is a new tv out of the box, and i will also see what it looks like if i display in 1080i on it...

but as of writing 1080i is looking better?????

that insigna is native 1080i, id suggest running it at 1080i since its upconverting all signals to that anyway

he means that the tv display is 1080i when it gets a 720p signal it converts it to 1080i

and after alot of testing and viewing i have to confirm that I think 1080i looks better on my tv. ignore my comments before tongue.gif
