There should be negative numbers. I've never destroyed an xbox, but I've saved and repaired many.

Everything was going horribly.  My friend and I were both pretty big newbs, he was a lil more informed than me though so i let him do most of the work.  (he  offered)  So about 2 days later and lots of tinkering he said everythhing was almost ready, he had it flashed and all he had to do was copy some apps over.  I was over joyed.  He opened it up to show me the led he put in it and turned on the box so i could see it glow, lifted up the hdd so i could see the wireing and then ..... the hdd slipped down (it wasn't screwed into the plastic thingy) and made a connection with the psu.  phhhhhhhhhhh snap crackle pop!  fire fire fire fire.  Nice lil eclectrical fire sprang up as he quickly turned it off lol.  Since he was move'n to europe in the next couple days and I didn't have the know how, neither one of use wanted to try to rebuild/repair the psu but lucky enough we had a friend with a crapped up dvd drive who was gona throw out his box .  So in the end everything worked out perfectly :-D

*we need to start a tread of the Xbox Darwin Awards, so people can post the stupidest mistakes they ever herd of which resulted in the death of there box. *  in fact i'll make one now.

wink.gif... it has erased my EEprom ;P. So now, my Xbox is only flashing red, but that's not a problem. Just have to get another Xbox (it's a matter of few days) and flash my backup cheapmod with Cromwell (it's already prepared). Shoul I say that I've fucked up this box or that I've rescued it smile.gif?

one , so far, destroyed by me. Used a crappy soldering iron bought at Radio Shack..TV's volume suddenly spiked and white noise came through..I jerked a little bit and a huge glob of solder falls on a RAM module.
I've given up trying to salvage it.

I've blown two power supplies...but that's about it. Everything else has been flawless.

biggrin.gif  I also snapped my case in half once when I was drilling out a hole for the jewel, but that didn't effect it's performance, I just played it with the top off till I got a new one o.0

I dont know if this really counts I guess it would) but I was building a custom setup for my car. I had the very original xbox with the usb daughter boards. I broke the pins off of those.

So that makes me at 1.

I have modded many xbox's with softmods and larger hard drives without a single problem.

QUOTE
did you know that a broken ps2 makes a great little table for sitting in the floor and soldering small gadgets?

LMAO, locked hard drives make great paper weights and doorstops too, so when your using that $200 ps2 as a table you can put papers on it and they wont fly away. How bout that!

Amazing what new technology can do! laugh.gif
