Also yes you are right in that the newer Xbox Dashes let you switch between interlaced and progressive. but ONLY in the dashboard, DVD playback is still in interlaced only, which is why the hex edit is necessary.  wink.gif

hey solerdd.....if u have the same set as me why are you using widescreen in the msdash? do u mean u have the same set but the widescreen version?? also ive tried messing with my contrast brightness ect.
the factory standard is

Bright- 50
Contrast- 80
sharpness- 50
rgb- 50
color- 45

im currently using my custom mode wich is with everything set to 50 except color(45) and sharpness (30)

but the problem seems to be there still.
what are your settings?

also you asked where i was seeing this,  in splinter cell move the camera around sam fishers head quick;y, i see "trails" left by the light on his back and goggles......

i really appreciate all the input guys,  if i cant fix this myself i guess ill have to live w/ it 4awhile until after i got a 360

Whoa, sorry. When you said you had the 26" I assumed you had the widescreen as well, you were just linking to the regular TV. I do have the widescreen version of that TV, which is 26". Apologies.

Ok, here are my settings for my Xbox input (the TV can hold seperate configurations for each input - my Xbox is connected on Component 2).

Contrast - 55
Brightness - 45
Sharpness - 45
Color - 40
Tint - G45 --- R55

I went through the first level of Chaos Theory, since it is extremely dark, and I couldn't notice any trails like you are describing. I don't know if maybe I'm just not seeing them or what (which very well could be, I sit a good 10 feet from my TV). The only other thing I can think of is what twistedsymphony said about the particular set you have. I guess if it isn't extremely noticeable and interfering with your gameplay, I wouldn't worry much about it. Maybe try the other set of component inputs on the TV (I assume you are connected via the HD pack from your Xbox?).

wow, solerdd, using your video settings doesnt completley fix the problem, but it definetly looks much better.  i think id attribute what im seeing to the fact that im within 4-5ft of my tv :]    try standing closer to yours w/ splinter cell and you may see what i mean.
