Hehehe, I'm so hyped about that VGA box.  I have a 20" Dell 2005FPW just waiting for that 360 in 720p.  Even tho I hate playing on an LCD, it will be nice to have a second HDTV  to play 360 on when the girlfriend wants to watch Desperate Housewives...  tongue.gif

I dunno if things are different in Canada, but I looked at that TV too and I gotta say the Sammy Slimfit looked better.  I just wasn't digging the Toshiba's screen cover.  And the built in tuner sold me.  But, I don't even know if you get Samsung's in Canada so if you like it, grab it.

Don't get the toshiba. It's made by another company (not toshiba) and is of shotty quality. Go for another similarly priced tv.

sorry for the vague reply.

I've been reading alot of the stuff posted here:
hxxp://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=541592&page=4&pp=30
Alllot of people have been saying this TV has geometry issues, but than some of them are ok. It would seem like a headache to gamble on this imo.

He must be talking about the best buy inside of a circuit city.  Best Buy has the absolute worst return policy I have ever seen, but Circuit City is awesome.  Plus they keep the receipt inside of their computer so you don't have to keep yours.

actually...I have the 30HF85 and I love it.  It is rumored that a lot of them have geometry and syncing problems, but I haven't seen that on my display.  I knew it was made by orion before I bought it, but it's got a 2 year warranty on it.  I say buy it, mine looks pretty damn sweet.

First off CRT isn't an option (not enough space) and neither is a HD TV (since the prices are really silly in the UK) so I'm probably going to go for a big LCD monitor and use the VGA lead for the 360.

So with this in mind I found three but I need a bit of help chosing between the them and I'd like to know what you guys think.

They are all 19" 1280x1024 units.

Base monitor is 600:1, 250 cd/m2, 12ms, VGA
http://www.dabs.com/...41025,41658&v=2
For an extra $12 I can get 500:1, 250 cd/m2, 12ms, VGA+DVI
http://www.dabs.com/...41025,41658&v=2
Or for an extra $15 there's 700:1, 300 cd/m2, 8ms, VGA
http://www.dabs.com/...41025,41658&v=2

I'm currently using a 15" 16ms LCD and I don't notice ghosting when playing PC games or videos.
Thanks in advance.

The last one, of course (better response time and contrast ratio).

I just bought this tv.

http://product.samsu.....XR2678WHX/XAA

And everything I watch has grey bars on the side for tv, and black bars on the top and bottom for dvd's.  I don't understand why, if the movie is in 16x9 and my tv is 16x9, why have black bars?

Also, my main question is if I get the HD pack for the xbox and the xbox 360, will they also have the black bars on the top and bottom like a movie, or will it be set up right?  And I see an option in the xbox dashboard for either widescreen or letterbox, I thought those 2 were the same thing, which should I choose since my tv is 16x9?
