It's not a name brand, but is a very good find. I have a friend who owns one and I am thinking about getting the same. It's a Syntax Olevia 27" HD LCD Television that supports all resolutions (480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i) via HDTV Input (Y/Pb/Pr).

I second the Samsung notion.  I have yet to find a bad image on any of their LCD or CRT models.  Plus many of them come with an ATSC HD tuner which is worth every penny.  I bought my Sammy at Bestbuy so no worries.  They will pricematch just about anyone.

I say you go with a projector.  It is the best for the price and you will get a nice quality if you spend $1800.  I found this model:

http://www.bestbuy.c...d=1110266874767

It is $1899.  but you add it to your cart and it is on sale for $1804, so I'm sure you can managae the extra $5.

Projectors are definitely worth the look.

i say that u don't go with a projector   to finiky.  U don't want to have to always turn off all the lights eery time u want to play.  the dlp tv's are so so good   and they weigh only like 125 and are only 13" thick.  About the price math iono if they match internet prices    cuz that where u get the best deals.

That projector wasnt high def anyways, my opinion is go with a hitachi or a samsung. Right now im using a kickass sharp 17" high def widescreen with TV tuner component and vga in. they dont make it anymore but you can get it on ebay for 500$

17"?  Damn... I haven't looked at a 17" anything in 5 years.  Not bragging, but I'm curious how you play games on such a small screen.

And projectors support HD, you just have to find one with component in or better.

Depends on how close you are to it. If you are close, it's like using a monitor, if you are far, its like trying to use ur computer 5 feet away.

30" are the sweet spot for bang/buck. walmart has some hdtvs at low prices, like philips and sanyo and good prices. If you are looking for a larger screen, like 40-50", then walmart and costco have a 42" samsung for around 1k.

Would someone post an HDTV that you CANNOT use the Xbox on?

As far as we know... if your TV has the "HDTV" logo on it, the Xbox (and the 360) will play HD on it.  All of them.

Yep, it will work.  As long a the logo matches, you're all set (thanks LowProfileWurm).

You will want to invest in the High Definition Pack or a Monster Cable Set to get the best quality though.  No sense in buying a Lamborghini if you're going to put regular unleaded in it, right?
