Thanks for the fast reply's. I just wish the movie industry would make it standard to record in 16x9 to get rid of those pesky black bars. But as long as my xbox 360 will take up the entire screen, I guess i'll be happy.

And that'll never happen. It's like telling artists they can only use blue and red paint. Takes away the artistic style. And some people are just stubborn about "wider is better". Oh well.

I just picked up the Samsung Slimfit TXR3079WH, and it rocks. There is a very sight bowing like what is described, but I'm talking like 2 milimeters here. The only reason it's noticable is because I knew to look for it.

I got my Samsung TXR-2678 (widescreen HDTV) and it also has the geometry issues. I was wondering if anyone has gone into the service mode and adjusted it manually?

Ok i wondered where this post had gone but find it pinned
I want advice on two TV's please and which one over other?
Well we all know CRT is clearer than LCD/Plasma, but the thing is for the UK no CRT tv's are made, well thats what everyone says. I just stumbled upon this
http://www.digiuk.co...72&c=&guid=&s=#
which is a CRT tv for the UK in HD. Its only 1080i but at £100 cheaper than the cheapest LCD tv
Or this LCD
http://www.ebuyer.co...oduct_uid=83269
I want proper HDTV not upscaled, I take it these both support that?
Thanks, Granty

I know little to nothing about TVs I have just been playing on some old one I have had for awile. I figured now is the time is upgrade. I went to EB and the television on the 360 looks pretty sharp.
I found it here:
http://www.electrodi.../discr25908.htm
I was just wondering if you think its a good buy(it seems like a nice TV). I will be going off to college soon so it seems this would be good. Also does anyone know offhand if it supports all the resolutions and things the Xbox360 can handle and I won't have to buy any separate HD box or something.
I know these are probably noob questions but if you could answer and not tell me to read a FAQ it would be nice. Also, do you think it is a good price for that TV(on sites like bestbuy it is $1000).
Thanks alot!

I have just played Kameo on the exact TV in Game (UK) for an hour and the graphics are superb on it. Th eonly downside is the screen size is not too big but quality wise it is spot on.
