Playing Files From Pc's Cdrom On Smb
« on: March 20, 2004, 12:46:00 AM »

I have SMB shares setup to play media files from my PC's hard drive. This has worked great, but I can't get xbmc to play anything from my PC's DVD or CDrom. I can display the files, it just won't play them. When I try to play an Mp3 the xbox hard drive keeps reading something over and over until I shut it off. As far as video, I've tried several different file formats with no luck

**edit**
Ok I kind of figured out my problem. I can play files but they have to be in a folder uhh.gif Does anybody know how to play them in the root directory? I can see them they just won't play.
I'm using this format.
smb://192.168.0.2/DVDRW

I fixed the problem turning 'Use Simple File Sharing' on. <
