I have 3. Let me tell you why.

1 xbox is hooked up to my entertainment center in the living room connected thru my surround sound/ big screen and hooked up to my wireless to play live (that is where i play)

my 2nd xbox(refurbished) is in my sons room, avoiding the constant battle over who gets to play with the xbox with my son and his friends, or to view a movie on the big screen with surround sound (its not really fair to boot off him and all his friends every time i want to play just because im bigger and can do it)

and my 3rd is my modded xbox (i call it my test-box) because i wasnt going to risk my or my sons ability to connect to live due to my lack of modding skills, or risk frying an xbox and being reduced back to 1 (see above paragraph as to why i dont want only 1 xbox in my house)

That about sums it up for me. I dont feel bad about having multiple xbox's in my house. Its made life more enjoyable from where i see things. Im not bragging about how many i have. You asked, I answered.

Sure if thier is only one person in your house that ever plays xbox i can see how 1 xbox would handle your needs just fine. When thier multiple people with multiple tastes in games and restricted space in which to do it, another xbox can be a good solution.

well I have 1 XBOX an 1 PS2(Might sell it 2 get the new smaller PS2, looks neat), why Again Cause I have money, I have no GayCube because well I have money and i don't wanna pay for it, $139CDN for a GayCube, or $130CDN for a Linksys, WRT54GS Router, $149CDN for a XBOX Wireless Adaptor MN-740, $135CDN for a 160Gb HDD for my XBOX, and $110CDN for an X3, plus $50 for installation, no friggin time 2 do it myself, result? Ive got two xboxs.

One crystal special edition one modded. I don't ever play on Live with my modded even though i can use a the normal bios and play live. I dont bother.

For me the main reason of have two Xb's is for system link play.

Ive got a room with two huge tv's and just get 7 mates round on a friday night with a lot of BEER and just play system link.

Going out where we live sucks so this is the only Friday night entertainment.

Also have a PS2 and a game cube(dont ask)

I have two XBOXes, both of which are modded. I'm trying to convince my wife to let me get another unmodded one because I miss XBOX live, a lot.

I have two already because I have po friends who love to play HALO, but don't own an XBOX. They come over and mooch food from me, so I figured I'd let them mooch XBOX from me as well. Also, it's great to play multiplayer games when no one can screen-watch.

You know. . . your question has many answers.

As a matter of fact, you could ask any one of the following questions and get answers that work well for your original question.

1) Why do people buy more than one TV?
2) Why do people buy more than one fork?
3) Why do people buy more than one pencil?
4) Why do people buy more than one XBOX controller?

I own a ps2 for one reason only. Grand theft auto Vice City. When i bought my ps2 it was back when "thier was no way GTA vice city would come to xbox because of an exclusivity contract" Now that i have it GTA VC on my xbox i havent used my ps2 for anything other than a dvd player.
