The US has got really strict about it, but kids always end up getting the games anyhow. They cant stop kids from underage smoking/drinking so how is this gonna stop them from getting games. Most parents dont care and will buy the kids game regardless of the rating. Basically they do this because some kids dont know the difference between right and wrong. The US gov't just doesnt want these kids to do what they see in video games, that's all we really need is a 10 year old chasing hookers and trying to burn them with a flamethrower like in GTA.
i personally believe that if u restrict something tha more people are going 2 want 2 do it has been proved right by drinking and smoking and video games in other countries thats y we dont hear 2 much about other countries having problems with this which is ridiculous if u go 2 Germany kids will have grab a bottle of wine or bottle of heinken and have a drink with there familys and not get drunk or get into any trouble if ur brought up around it then u shouldnt have 2 worry about it i know there will always be abusers and people whjo just wanna get drunk at times( such as me on a friday night) but still even when im drunk i try 2 find someone that is sober well i didnt think this would spark such a big spark lol
well back 2 tha topic is it really hard 2 slap a case and sticker with a mature symbol on it or telling employess 2 ensure 2 tell customers it has been rerated 2 mature it would save both companies hundreds of thousands of dollars lost right now but does kmart or ebgames keep them in stock with a sticker? i remember buying a game about 2 years that got rated teen then went 2 mature it was a rpg type game i believe but they didnt take it off the shelves im so annoyed that a public company could stand up for vioalating child labor laws and sweat shops and care bout one game thats been selling like hot cakes
