Where Did My Familiar Go?

in the wizards tower i made a fire atranotch familiar
i didnt want to take it with me but i didnt dismiss it either
then i left for a couple of days when i came back it disappeared
and now i cant make anymorebecause it says i can only have one at a time??
can someone help?? where did it go??

this happened to me too, but i made a frost unstead of flame and i cant find him!!! not that it does much

Yeah, what is with these guys?

Are they like your Adoring Arena Fan where you tell them to stay and they stay indefinately? Or are they like your horses where they turn up at the next place you fast travel to?

I would find it annoying if I tell my Atronach to stay some place and he just stays there forever...I'd never be able to find him! I wonder what happens when you tell them to stay in an Oblivion gate...then close it.

Come to think of it...what happens to people you tell to follow you? Can you collect them all in your house?

Like Brother Martin, the Odiil Brothers (some guys that follow off the top of my head).
