Hey guys, i just got oblivion and it KIKS ASSS!!!!

Anyway, im doin a sidequest in that first like big city thing you come to. its got the main temple in the middle and the 6 others around it (like the gladiator place, marketplace, waterfront district etc.)

But where the heck do u find lockpicks???

ive looked in like every single barrel by the water, and some in the market place. O well bak 2 more searching.

hey umm well wenever i find one i go 2 the lock and it just breaks. could someone give me advice on how to lockpick?

Four options:

1. Kill some bandits.  They usually have lockpicks.  Bandits hang out near caves and forts.
2. Join the theives guild.  They will sell you lockpicks.  You can buy them from most fences.
3. The best option: Do the quest for Nocturnal.  One unbreakable lockpick.  And if your magicka is high enough, you can cast a fortify security spell right before you pick the lock.  You will then be able to pick any lock in the game (except the ones that require quest keys).
4. Another option: Use the open lock spells.

all 4 are great ideas. i think your best bet is the skeleton key.

Open very hard lock spell. Very handy. Shame that there isn't a touch spell though, sometimes casting a spell will go through objects such as some gates.

If he didn't find it here, he'd find it somewhere else right?  This ain't the only oblivion forum on the net...

And even then, he could get a strategy guide.   If he was worried about ruining the game, he wouldn't ask.  And besides, there are soooo much more things to the game than just picking locks.

Would you find something like that through a FAQ or a Strategy Guide/Walkthrough?

I'm sure the strategy guide mentions lockpicks... And everything I said as well.

Would I personally buy the strategy guide?  Nope, because I've got online forums with the same info.
