I found this at the xbox.com website.  A developer for Bethesda was talking about Oblivon and said:

QUOTE
Developer Ashley ACheng Cheng showed off the upcoming Thieves Den download for Oblivion behind closed doors today, but I got a chance to check it out.

"Basically, it's Goonies," he said. "That's what we really wanted."

In the downloadable mission, which will be released in two weeks, you battle for control of a massive cave, complete with a haunting pirate ship. Once you conquer the lair, it forever belongs to your character.

You can start a band of pirates. You can plunder. And you can decorate your captain's chamber with furniture.

Cheng also hinted at further content on the way.

"We're going to keep on releasing demos every three to four weeks as long as people keep playing," Cheng said. "We've got six or seven in the queue—one is a huge and epic dungeon."

Your crazy, I have only the Wiz Tower and that is well worth it. I can sleep there, make better potions (due to aclhemy table), store my junk, enchant my weapons, create spells, summon demons, and jump to any mages guild. That download I see as worth it, the others not soo much. I don't know if I will buy anything else though until they release a patch to fix having to clear the cache. Yes clearing the cache is easy, but I shouldn't have to do it in the first place.

That goonie ship does sound interesting. I do also think it's BS that they want to continue releasing a bunch of small quests, especially if they all suck and only take a few minutes to beat.

Well I doubt they are creating it now. Probably had most of them ready to add into the game but just held them back so that they would actually have stuff for the marketplace.

And on the tower... it's pointless to those who already finished the game, done 50/50 achievements and put in 80+ hours.

would be cool if they added huge quests like the vampire quest was

or even a new island or something like that, would be worth money

then it's not for you... Why download something if it is of no benifit to you? I was barely into the game when I got the Tower and it's been the best $1.50 I've spent in the marketplace yet. I haven't downloaded the others for good reason. 1. I never use my horse so horse armor is useless and 2. I haven't completed every mission I can find yet so why bother adding more missions when I haven't finished playing all of the ones I've paid for.

If I'd alrady finished the game I probably woudn't have bought the wizard's tower...

Even if you beat  the game, you can still try it again. Thats why they have all those different character classes.

I dont mind the fees so much. it pays for the distribution and dev fees. 200ms for the horse was a bit much, obviously they realized that and took it down to 150 for future whatevers. Im so game.

sorry that you actually have to think while playing oblivion, instead of just massively leveling up over everything.

But that used to be a fun part of rpg's.

'Damn I can't beat that guy on the bridge. I'll go away and gain experience and level up, then come back and beat him.'

It's crap that any weak character can run through the world safely because they will only ever fight weak enemies.

I see what you mean about the scaling system. Each way has it's drawbacks, personally I wouldn't mind seeing a mix. For example some dungeons being a set hardness, or a partial scaling on all characters through improved equipment or something.

There's too much to do in the game as is. Don't know why anyone would want to waste their money.. tongue.gif
