Well, it's all about "re-playability".  I mean, if you bought the game and beat it...  It's just sitting there collecting dust.  At least this way, you can dust it off and get some use out of it.

If you've already spent 80+ hours playing the game, you've gotten WAY more than $60 worth of entertainment--so it's really petty to bitch about a few bucks more.
