Seems like the thieves guild is full of bugs. I had to restart a new character to get to the last mission b/c my main guy's one got locked on the boots quest. Had to redo it all for the dam achievment points

there is a patch coming some time but no one knows what all it will fix. thats why everyone says keep serval saves. i have had times where i havent got the quest or the achievment. i just go back to a old save and try again.

Hopefully the patch will fix those issues but if you want the points. Then you'll have to restart for now. Or, just skip it and do everything else. Thats what I did untill I finished the main quest, then remade a new character so I could get the 50 points. Didnt take long if you make a thief type person to fly through the quests again.

good tip on starting a new charachter to get the points, never thought of it that way. not as fulfilling, btu this is the first game i really feel i want to get the 1000 gamer points on. other games really didnt matter. none of them are overkill like having to dominate the world, but they do take some time and effort to get thru all of the quests.

Before you shoot the arrow it tells you to practice with some normal arrows first because you only get one shot, so if you saved after you missed with the special arrow, then I think you're kind of screwed.

Definetaly not something to return the game over.

I had a problem with this quest too, it wouldn't let me sit down to recieve the scroll, but I just kept rebooting and trying again, finally it worked. Good luck.

I had the same problem (ran before getting the scroll) and I had to do the entire dungon over...not fun. I also lost a bunch of cool weapons that did not drop my second time through...

Not a big deal...just remember to un-equip the Springheel Jack boots before the end...

do you people overwrite your save games?

Every time I save I create a NEW save, and I keep all my saves from the past 10 levels...

The game stores about 250 saves, once you go past that it starts overwriting the oldest I believe.

There's no real reason to NOT create new saves each time, unless you're super concerned about HDD space, but even then it's next to nothing.

I have a problem also. Not with the arrow. But i get up to the bit with the chair and i cant sit in the reading chair. Any suggestions on what i should do?

You have to make sure that when you first go into the reading room a lady monk says something to you along the lines of "oh hello Mrs. Soandso (she thinks you're a woman) I'll get the scroll for you." Then go stand by the chair and keep pressing A until it finally lets you sit down. Then she'll come down the stairs and set it in front of you, then take it and get out undetected.

I had this same problem.
