I told my buddy about the Umbra sword the other day and he went looking for it. He found the cave but he gets his arse handed to him every time. Are there any tips that will let him kill her?

He is a lvl 7 melee only fighter.

I havn't fought her myself yet, but I've read lots of threads where people mention you need to jump up onto the pillar where she can't hit you and shoot arrows at her. Another option was using the paintbrush trick to make a blockade and standing on the other side.

wait until they lvl up some then go back. hit hit hit run away and heal.

my friend has the umbras sword and it does 33 damage but my dadriec long sword does 38 damage so idk why people are saying its the strongest sword in the game when its not

Yeah I found her and killed her pretty quickly at about level 22.  I wasn't even on the quest.  The sword is strong as heck even without the enchantment.

I hate the enchantment it has on it.  It's kinda useless and annoying.  I wish there was an "Unenchantment spell" or an "Unenchantment altar" or something.

I just did this today actually. I'm level 32 and I thought it was pretty easy. I have a 'ghost walker' spell that makes you invisible for 60 sec's until you attack or cast a spell, so all I would do is become invisible, go in and hit her with some frost damage (80pts on touch) and then recast my ghost walker spell quickly so she couldn't see me and repeated this until she died.

I use this tactic on a lot of different enemies, especially if there are a lot of powerful enemies in one room. To use ghost walker your illusion has to be at 75 though, which might not be an option for players who aren't magicka oriented.

I ended up keeping the sword like the dog tells you to, but mainly because every time I would give it to the shrine it would freeze right after, even after re-booting, so I don't know what all that is about.

if you dont finish the quest it doesnt weigh anything. also the enchantment is nice for mages.

its great for me. if you dont like it all you have to do is not recharge it. its great to easy charge up my staffs and stuff.

I beat her at level 8 by summoning a skeleton for oh...let's say....3 hours...lol. It was worth it though, that armor and sword's amazing for level 8.

My advice is to forget about her until you can legitimately beat her.  Why make the game overly easy with that powerful of a sword in the early lvl's?  IMO, that just ruins the game and the experience.  Hell, the game is not difficult on normal setting with regular weapons.  I just don't get some people some of the time.
