For the main story mission I had to go to the daedric (sp) statue and talk to her at dawn or dusk by presenting gold dust collected from a will-o-the wisp. I found one, but how do you collect the gold dust?

Also, in one of the mages guild quests (don't remember which city) but you have to get an amulet off of a body in a grave, but when you go into the room the doors close behind you and all of a sudden there is another mage in the room with you and two will-o-the wisp's are attacking you. How do you kill these things? I tried everything but found nothing that I currently have works. Is there a certain spell that I need to cast?

silver/magical weapons, or spells

Thanks, the mages guild quest was driving me nuts, I just decided to run around in circles while the other mage killed them, unfortunately that didn't work out so I gave up. Gonna go try this again!

i killed it with the flare spell, bu tyou have to be quick cause the little fuckers run off after you hurt it.

i gave them  2 sword slashes, killed them quick, sword of spark.   but heres the funny thing, when the die thier "slime" bounces down the hill like a sloppy slingy, really fast to. i chased them all the way downt he cliff and luckily a groups of rocks cought the mess, including me.  as far as finding them goes, right infront of the statue that talk, i turned around and walked down that path a little bit. 10 seconds maybe, i found 3 of them.

Taking down one of them isn't a big deal, but when there's two or three and they gang up on you, it's hard to kill them.

Flare seemed to work the best so far, but I still can't kill more than one at a time. I don't have any silver weapons and I went into the maket in Imperial City, but the blades shop only has silver arrows, guess I need to check some of the other towns, possibly pick up some spells to enchant my blades with, because it takes me forever to kill the little bastards. I'm a level 14 mage, if that makes any of the difference in how quickly I can kill them.

I was only level 10 and got consistantly raped by Will-o-the Wisp because it drained me so low and casted on me non-stop but I was sure it had a weakness and my intuitions were fruitful !  It need to be materialised to attack you but you can attack THEM even if they're not !!!  So run away until they disappear and swing in the path you took or use Detect Life to always see them !  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

BTW I was hesitant to even bother to reply as the forum seemd XBox elitist ...  Guess what I'm using !

Does the silver weapon thing work on all the ghosts/whatever creatures?

yes, to the best of my knowledge a silver weapon kills all ghosts

Umbra = mad ghostpwnage (for some reason, it damages ghosts even though it's not silver nor enchanted with damage-spells. Maybe the fact that it's enchanted is enough to let it damage ghosts?).
