or just keep taping it up and figure out how often it moves fast and once it does move fast then the next one is going to be slower so you attempt it that time. i always pick lvl5 locks with ease.

I cracked the chest right before you enter the basement to the arena and got 500 gold. This is a very good guide but they are not like this all the time.

Where is it at? (page # from the primira guide will do.) I havent come across it yet? Im only 10hrs into the game though. And I finished 3 main story missions! biggrin.gif

I'd have to own the guide to give you that info, alas I do not.

Go to the southern most city(Leyawiin) and search around for a shrine. One of the threads has more precise directions....

here...

its in there somewhere  pop.gif

I dont care for walkthrus/guides, and I never use glitches, but Im glad I skimmed thru that and saw the skeleton key bit, I dont regret using the info  laugh.gif

I wrote this is for the people that want to know how to lockpick properly. There's almost always an easier way to do things, but some people like to know how to do things properly before (or instead of) taking the easy route.

When you use the skeleton key, you still have to properly pick the lock, it just doesn't break if you do it wrong.  When you think of it, it's exactly the same thing you're doing, since you are loading the save game so you don't break picks.

So far, the skeleton key is the best item I've encountered in the entire game.

OR just keep auto-attempting.

I heard somewhere that using the skeleton key prevents you from levelling your security? Is this true? Security is one of my main skills and that would prevent me from maxing out my characters level.

No, it's not true.   I went up two levels last night while picking locks with the skeleton key.  It does feel a little slower than with the picks though.  Perhaps it has something to do with the security bonus you recieve when you get the lockpick?

I didn't know that. I haven't gotten the skeleton key yet. I haven't done any quests either. Ha ha. I've been going everywhere stealing and killing, and I'm having an absolute blast just doing that. I can't even fathom how much fun the game will be when I get into the story. happy.gif

est

Why don't you at least join the theives guild so that you can make some cash off of the things you've been stealing?

Where is the skeleton key?  Is it part of a quest or just in a dungeon?

Ooops, found it in the guide.  Sorry
