How Would You Rate Elder Scrolls Iv: Oblivion

I'd give it 9.7.

+ It's overwhelmingly huge
+ No painted scenery, everything you see when moving around is reachable, for the first time in a video game
+ Every building can be entered, have basements, multiple floors etc. GTA and its non-enterable buildings feel like theatrical settings compared to Oblivion.
+ Not only do the buildings feel most realistic, but also the nature has been created in the most realistic way ever.
+ Could be the best game I've ever played, and I've played since 1984. Has the best parts of NG gfx, free roam of GTA, and physics engine of HL2

- Exaggerated range of some weapons the enemies use. They can miss you by four feet and still manage to hurt you. What ever happened to collision detection?
- People are scripted and don't have very strong AI. You can beat someone up, stop for a nice chat with the same person and then continue clubbing him to pulp again
- Guards know much too well if you're wanted, in a very unrealistic manner. I'd rather see them shouting, ringing bells etc to alert others and hunt you down
- You can't see out the windows in the buildings. Can you see I'm nitpicking here? biggrin.gif

So far it gets a perfect 10 from me.
There really isn't much to complain about.

If you've been looking for a reason to buy an Xbox 360, Oblivion is it.
I don't care if you're not into RPG's, this game is that good.
Oblivion is addictive like crack!

I'd give it a 9.8   The two points deducted is for choppy framerate while loading and psychic gaurds that see you steal through walls.   Other than that, this game is the best experience I've had on either of the Xbox systems. Absolutely lovin it.

Great gameplay and will have a lot of replay value for most everyone.
Graphics are pretty good, environment and atmosphere are much better than overall graphics.
Would have liked to see an xbox live random co-op mission generator or arena add-on or something.

Give it a 9/10
Love the game.

Yup, whenever I break into a store the guard always comes in and catches me even when I pick the lock when no one is around me. It is like they have damn X-Ray vision goggles.
