So I constantly get my ass WHIPPED in Oblivion.  I'm trying to level up my destruction skill, but I only have one good destruction spell.  I have a ton of money but can't find anything worth while to spend it on.  Can anybody tell me where to buy some good destruction spells?

mage guild members in a towns guild house.

are you level 50 yet for Destruction? once you hit that, the availability of more powerful spells is allowed.

I'm in the high 40's.  Do all the mage guild houses sell the same stuff though?  I hardly ever see destruction spells at the guild houses.

One other question.  How can I find out the stats of the conjured creatures?  I have conjure skeleton, which I love, but should I get conjure scamp too?

all guild houses in different towns specialize in different things as far as magic, read the text during load screens, youll find all the info you need about the game in general.

once you hit 50, the sellers of spells will have more powerful ones you can actually buy/use. I dont know about the stats, but a summon scamp spell is more $$ than a skeleton if my memory serves me right.

How are you guys making cash in the game?  I building my character to be pure mage but I am always cash strapped.  Let me know.

Tip: If you want some good destruction spells join the mages guild and talk to the mages in Skingrad.

get in the dungeons and loot, and do quests for rewards. loot bandits and sell anything they are carrying, unless its better than what you have at the time.

The spell trader in Imperial city has a few good spells also. Another good place to get some good spells is the Dark Brotherhood Guild or whatever it is called. There should be a spell merchant near the guy who gives you assassination contracts.

When I created my character, I planned to focus on destruction magic, but I find that restoration and conjuration are more effective.  I can take people out like crazy if I conjure a skeleton up right behind them and block and attack while the skeleton skewers them from behind.  Also, the restoration spells that let you take somebody's attribute are very helpful.  I use the strength one to take five of the enemy's strength and give it to me.  That's a 10 point swing.

I have about $3k saved up, and it is almost entirely from going through caves and taking the armor of people I kill.  You can get a feather spell for like $150 to help you carry more stuff.  It pays for itself after the first dungeon.

I think I might just duct tape the right button down and let it cast fireball for a few hours to get my destruction skill up.  LOL.

Also, can I just say HOW FREAKING AMAZING IS THIS GAME!!!

Do you know where i can obtain a lowlevel conjuration spell?  I've encountered pleny of summon spells, but my conjuration level always too low to cast them.

Actually in order for the destruction skill to level up you have to use it against somebody.  You can't just simply cast it.  Best thing to do is rent a room and summon a weak creature and use it on him there.  Takes a while but that way you also raise your conjuration as well.

Tip:  I also found a way to make easy money last night.  I just started doing alchemy.  Best thing to do is buy, steal, and/or find fruits and vegetables and create potions from them and sell 'em.  In one hour I went from 111 gold to 900!!! Plus your alchemy skill goes up with every potion you make.  The higher you alchemy skill the more potent and more valuable the potion becomes (more potent=more $$$).

speaking of potiosn you make, Ive made 3 just messing around and how do you access them? I dont see them in my inventory and they definitely dont show up when I want to sell some of my items. when I make them and make another, alls I get is a message that says youve made 4 potions or whatever and I dont see anything except an apple in a box. I havent messed with it since the day the game hit so maybe I should look again  rolleyes.gif

They are in your menu on the same screen as your mortar and pestle.  just scroll down.  My alchemy skill is about 33 and it is totally fun.  Let it be known that I am currently PISSED at the leveling system in this game.  +2 multipliers can eat nuts.
