Anybody Else Listen To Music While Playing Oblivion?
« on: March 24, 2006, 02:20:00 PM »

I have been listening to the music off my PC and my iPod using the 360's playback functionality after about 2 hours of playing the game (15 into it now). Ever since then I have just come to love this game even more.

The fun I am having right now with Oblivion makes that cold 14 hours in November so worth it.

thats odd, this is the one game where I didnt feel the need to play my own music(with all others I do), its that good. But I did yesterday and it made it a different, but good experience.

Try Masters of Chant, fits in with the environment beerchug.gif

Mmmm... Chrono Trigger.   I've been listening to the Chrono Trigger: Brink of Time album alot lately.

Any of you guys big into VG Music?  I used to help run a couple websites back in the day that were part of the VGMusic.com sister sites, specifically Tiamat.net and Omnigear.net.  I occasionally run into old timers on the net.  I used to post as Firehawk_607 ( laugh.gif ).

...listenning to anything other than the games soundtrack probably takes away from of its immersion.
A key element which is very important to the game....

At least that's the way I see it anyways smile.gif

Yeah, having that "You're being attacked" music is essential to playing Oblivion.

the only part I miss is the attack music, but after lastnights Cloud Top quest, I can do without the games music for a day or 2  laugh.gif

I've started listening to music in Oblivion after about 16 hours into it. I've already gotten tired of hearing the same music over and over. I try to pick stuff that I think will fit. I mainly listen to stuff like Enslaved, Emperor, Nerthus, Dornenreich, Summoning, Tenhi, Wyrd, Opeth, Agalloch, and Ulver (first 3 albums only) as examples when I play Oblivion... pretty much any medieval sounding death/black/doom metal will work IMO.

I had some Nightwish in my playlist and forgot it was in there, so when Wishmaster and End of All Hope came on, I was pleasantly surprised  laugh.gif
