gugah!  This game is going to remove me from the real world for at least 3 months.  The draw distance in this game is astounding, you can see so far.  The only draw back is that things at a certain distance look really shitty, but only one particular distance.  Also, when you get up close to stuff, the textures still look really shitty, I think this is for lack of anistrophic filtering or something like that.

w/e, it's just nitpicking.  This game is amazing.  Riding a horse is great, only problem is lack of weapons usage while mounted, and the fact that enemies have a tendency to target your horse alot.  I'm barely making any progress in the main quest because I keep getting sidetracked.  I really wanna' get to some of the dense forests I've seen in screenshots, I hope they're still in the game!

i have played the game last night for around 5 hours and havent accomplished anything at all, yet still one of the best gaming experiences ever!  only near the end of my gaming session did i finally find and sign up with the fighters and mages guild, still havent done any quests though.  i entered and pillaged maybe 3 caves and found that the dungeons/caves in this game are far more complex with how large and deep they run.

honestly the majority of my play time was me just walking around in the world absorbing it all in.  yes there is the occasional anomily but for how beautiful the world is, its easy to overlook any minor issues.  all things considered this is by far the best 1st gen game yet.  its scary to think how good games will look a year or two later when they look this good now.  there were times where i just had to stop and pick my jaw off of the ground from the scenory.

the few concerns that people had prior to launch are not really that noticable.  the frame rate is nice and smooth 95% of the time and only really stutters when the game is loading which is always blazing fast (with the HD, havent seen how it is without).  the texture work is glorious, the few rare times you will come across a wall that looks a little bland but only compared to the rest of the world.  water was a thing some people complained about in the pics, well in the final game it is absolutely breathtaking (above water, too dark to see below surface).  and yes there are shadows in the game, beautiful shadows.

i had high expectations for this game and it easily matched if not exceeded them.  cant wait to get home from work, its going to be a long day!

I get up at 7:30 every morning and had no second thoughts about playing until 3:00a.m.

Which I am sure I will do again today.

And tomorrow.

And a bunch of other days down the line

*sigh* This is real next gen, unlike those crappy launch games! This is the reason I bought the x360 I can't wait until friday when it is released over the pond.

Nice impressions people.
I'm still on the fence with this game so your impressions are appreciated beerchug.gif

just so I understand, what are you on the fence about?  not sure if you will like the gameplay or something?  I cant imagine anyone being disappointed with this game unless you only concentrate on the few flaws among all of the rest of this beautiful game.

i can see this not being a game for everyone (too huge and vast) but for everyone else looking for something wonderous and beautiful dont need to look any further

Hi,
I've a question for Japanese 360 owners, as me.

Can someone confirm if Oblivion (us version) is region locked?
And I wonder if there is only english language.

thanks.

I'm not sure about region locking, but there is not option to change the language.  I tried changing my system language to Japanese and then playing the game and the game still comes up in English.  Sorry.

I'm on the same paga as Crobar, only have about an hour a day to play 360 and do not know if this game is worth buying since I don't think that much can be accomplish with an hour a day playability.

Please reply if you think otherwise!

HOLY SHITBALLS!

This game was worth the $65.00 for the Intro alone!
it took me a good 20 minutes to create my character after that. I JUST now started the game and I had to pause. My eyes couldnt believe what they were seeing. The dungeon walls are just as we saw back in the old videos, I am in heaven! I dont care if I never even start a fucking quest, I will sit in the fuggin forest and listen to the music and look at rocks and watch the foliage sway in the damn wind! Go get this fugger beerchug.gif

Any and all of you that thought the game wouldnt look good are in the for the surprise of your life. If you dont have a HDTV, I really feel bad for you, I truly do.

I am in shock, that is all.........
