PC version:  49.99 CDN (about 39.99 US)
360 Version 69.99 CDN (about 59.99 US)

PC Oblivion (with wired controller) + case of beer>>> 360 version

Its silly its costs THAT much more for a game that wont even be moddable like the PC version

That's what he said... "(about 59.99 US)"

Illinois isn't THAT far north enough to be Canada.. so I doubt you're paying with Canadian dollars.. wink.gif

The cost for me to upgrade my computer to run Oblivion would be about 100 times more expensive then the ten dollar cost difference between the PC and Xbox 360 versions. Plus I would much rather be playing wireless from my couch than than I would sitting on my uncomfortable office chair.

BOY HOWDY! beerchug.gif

My PC can't run any games released in the last year and a half, plus my $2700 couch, DLP projector with 120" diagonal widescreen, $3000 worth of 6.1 surround sound, and wireless controller is much more comfortable then my $70 office chair, 19" LCD, $40 PC works speakers, and crappy keyboard and mouse.

I'd like to see you point out what I could buy for $10 that would improve the PC experience enough to make me buy that over the Xbox 360 version.

oh and I don't drink so "a beer" isn't an option. Even if it was, my home theater room also has a full bar... my computer room does not  tongue.gif

on that note I've already preorderd the Xbox 360 LE version.

It's funny that this entire thread is based on INCORRECT numbers.  The PC version is $49.99 US, not $39.99.

Trust me when I say the 360 isnt free from compatibility issues, anyone who has played one knows this. Many 360 games have inexcusable issues for console games.
Oh and most PC gamers have full 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound systems with sub on thier computers. Any current GFX chipset capable of playing Oblivion also has DVI outputs or component outputs meaning they can still play the game on their big ass HDTV if they have one. Oh and thanks for mentioning that PC gamers will install the game thus giving quicker load times.

I love the responses from console gamers. They think just because their PC is outdated as hell that PC gamers computers must be also. Just to be clear, PC gamers will not have to upgrade for Oblivion as they are a PC gamer meaning their PC is built and used for games. rolleyes.gif

Ive got a gaming computer, i wont get into details but it has the goods along with surround sound and sub  but still does not compare to my home theatre wink.gif Sure it might be a little bit faster for loading, but you have to take time to install it and update if necessary any drivers ect.  I love my PC but i dont care for playing games on it as much as my 360.

Have your PC in the family room, hooked up to your big screen using an xbox360 controller plugged into the PC... OR have your small 360 already hooked up to your home theatre system, use a wirless controller comfortably sitting on your couch playing the way it was meant to be played wink.gif

I agree that the 360 has issues, and I have a gaming computer. But I would far rather use the 360. Mainly because I don't want the loud computer moved to hook up to my tv. My home theatre kicks the ass out of my 5.1 computer system and I don't have to boot an OS to play the game tongue.gif

Sure it'll load faster but the ease of use makes up for it. Besides the xbox 360 cost me $455 a GFX card that would play it better than my 360 would cost more than the system.... work that out biggrin.gif

yaaz you need something better 2 do with your time, the debates been done 2 death and pc loses. Needing 2 gigs of sys memory alone kills the idea, I wont even bother with the other 14 reasons Id never get the pc version for a 200 hour game.

oh and heres that beerchug.gif, enjoy that pc version.

dudes. you all nailed it. the price is a moot point. the atmosphere and comfortability of the living room is much more suited to the long haul. NO SOUP FOR YOU, NEXT!

The primary reason I'm gong to purchase the 360 version over the PC version is because I didn't buy a $400 videogame console to not use it. rolleyes.gif

No, but you did buy a $1000+ PC(it has to be if it could run Oblivion fine) to not use it rolleyes.gif
