Its a game that was "expected to be ready for the holiday season" but then pushed back 5 months.

After screaming outcry in the official oblivion forums the devs finally came clean about what was going on and admitted the game was being scaled down somewhat because the 360 didnt have the resources needed.

Then they dumbed down the game in lots of ways including removing shadows from objects in the game (the buildings cast shadows as well as npc's and trees yipee).

Wine, cry, bitch, moan.

March holds more than Oblivion, but to me, Oblivion is all I will have my hands on.

oh my how wrong you are.  it was said when the game was first delayed that they were scaling back the game because of performance issues.  it doesnt have anything to do with the 360 not being up to par for the game it just had to do with bad design.  there is a whole thread on this subject.  many could point to the PC being the bottleneck as they want to make the two versions the same regardless of developing them individually.  because of this approach no one can specify which of the two formats is holding the game back since they will be developed to look exactly the same.  it should be noted though that, it has been stated many times that the 360 is far from being maxed out regardless of what some may think because of the lack of shadows on bottles and other pointless objects.

also no the video is not that new.  i posted this video a while ago, its a vid of the PC version and looks mighty impressive for a game that was "dumbed down" so much.

The majority of the screenshots and most likely that vid have the shadows removed. People simply didn't notice which makes the whiners complaints look pretty pointless.

my point exactly.  not to pick on Heet, but hes the perfect example.  he complains about them cutting features and effects out without even realizing that the game is still as impressive.  what that video shows is what were getting and for a "dumbed down" game its damn good looking.  it kinda erks me when people just state about the shadows removed because the majority of them are still intact, just because they have to rethink some resources doesnt make it any less beautiful.
