Froze on me once. I keep playing it to see how far I can get and offroad... I love the freedom. The police don't bother you unless you're an asshat and crash into other drivers, although I noticed a bug where an AI car barging you gets a cop tag.

Freezes up constantly on me. It's going to be a badass game once the bugs are worked out though!

the demo locked up on me as well.  love the game though, really really impressive how they implement the motion blur for the sense of speed.  im not sure if i will be buying the game but it sure will be something to keep an eye out for.

Glad to know I'm not the only one this game demo is locking up on.It does seem to only do it when other drivers start to appear.I'll try disconnecting the LAN cable to see if it solves the problem.
Overall it seems to be a decent game.

Well, guess I could try to disconnect my Wireless adapter. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)  But that's the whole point of this game to me.....the MMO function to it.  Oh well.....

I hate developers releasing glitchy code. Before you all go flaming me, I think a demo shouldn't lock up or anything of the sort. A demo is a 'demonstration' of a game. Before a demo is released, core code should be locked down and a little play testing should have been done. Developers do themselves no favours at all releasing buggy code, let alone code that brings a system to a halt. I was really looking forward to this game and after experiencing the same lockups, it's made me think twice about a purchase. If they throw out a demo for people without any real quality control, what makes me think they won't do the same with final code?

It's clear this demo was rushed for E3, but there's no reason why they wouldn't throw out a final product in the same state and then patch it later like so many PC developers have taken to doing. Patching games over Live is a both a blessing and a curse to me. Yes, it makes it easier to fix annoying glitches that are discovered after launch, but it also means developers can save money and go easy on testing knowing that any show stopping bugs can be patched later.

There's a lot of buggy games out there for 360 and we can only hope the situation improves and we don't see a rush of patches like PC games, where we need to have version 2.3.1114 to get online.

BTW, the locking up on Test Drive Unlimited does seem to be online related as I didn't experience the lock ups after pulling out my ethernet cable.

Just my opinions, no flaming required.  smile.gif

Wasnt expecting much from this game and my expectations were met with tearing/slow framerates and crashing. If it would run at a steady 30fps like PGR3 it would be an OK arcade racer, but if the full game cant pull the frames then its just another NFSMW, I couldnt care less.

And my 360 has hung like 2 times in 4 months and yesterday was the second time when I accepted a challenge in this demo. BOO.

Im totally with you TUUK, but no amount of crying will make every developer as talented as Bizarre, Rare or Bungie.. some devs just are and will be mediocre now and for all the generations to come. What I mean by mediocre is a lack of polish or attention to detail or quality in the most obvious aspects of a game like graphics (thats engine, art direction, art execution), performance (engine again, optimizing etc), stability (code generally, online code aswell).

A studio that put out underperforming crap last gen will do it again this gen and into infinity. No amount of hardware power will do the work for them.

sory jorgen, but I see no tearing or slow framerates. However, I do get frequent lockups. Disappointing. I'll still hold out hope this will be a good game. At first when the game was first loaded it was good no lockups now constant lockups.

Same here, no tearing, no slowdown. Also, I only had it lock up once(i only played it about 3-4 times tho).

this game is hella fun.  I also love the openess of it.

I thought the only way to play against someone online is to find them and challenge them.  That's not the case.  Just press right on the D-Pad when in the game and go to the orange checkered flag on the map and play with others.  Right now my favorite thing to do is cut someone off on this map and playing with 8 others on this track.  The speed and action is intense.

I also loved the openess and the idea that you can just drive around and watch the scenery. It's a car free-roaming game and I was enjoying it for awhile.

Then I had a feeling of déjà vu - the game very much resembles the driving portitions of GTA and I realized that I actually find the sense of driving and physics in GTA much better. Try driving off the road at 250mph and the car won't even flip over. Plus the actual game doesn't look nearly as good as the screenshots.

Test Drive is coming out in the fall and then it has to compete with GTA4, that has many of the free-roaming and car-racing aspects of this game, plus more. And then it has to compete with Forza2 that comes out by holidays, and will be the most polished driving game in human history.

I'm sorry to say, but this game should've come out in the spring to stand any chance - I would've bought it now, but not in the fall with all these awesome games coming out, it's just too little, a little too late.

GTA? How can you compare this game to GTA? They are nothing alike if you ask me. Also, Test Drive drops on 6/22. Thats mid summer, not fall. As far as I know, there isn't even a release date for GTA4 yet.
