I posted this on the XBMC forums under suggestions but decided to posted here as well for those who dont go to the XBMC forums and would be interested in it

I think it would be nice to add this Caller ID into XBMC it works on tivo and diretv boxes etc... it has a "listen" mode and server mode which would run on the pc for more info check http://www.sunflower...m/software/yac/ it is freeware with source available i searched for "yac" in the forums but nothing showed up so I am guessing no one has posted about this yet so I did and here is a lil review for yac http://www.extremete...,1401459,00.asp and the SDK to yac is also available and located here http://www.sunflower...yac/yac-sdk.htm basically what it does is broadcast the ID Caller info from your pc to the "listener" which could be XBMC

and it can broadcast much more

So no one else is interested in YAC support in XBMC? Knowing who calling would be great while you watching a movie for you will know if you want to get up and pause the movie and answer the phone or just stay watching the movie and ignore the call <

its not just the number its the Name & Number and the way it works is ok do you have a 56k modem that has id caller capabilities? if you dont know download YAC for pc on the above link and call your self and watch it show up on your pc well the way YAC works is when a call comes in and your 56k modem on your pc picks up the name/number yac will broadcast the Name/Number to the programs that support it on the lan/network such as Tivo/Some DirecTV boxes and if XBMC would add support for it well YAC could broad cast the name and number on screen while you watching a movie or so on...
