Rock Band 2 & Guitar Hero World Tour Question

So I have both Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour.  I know when World Tour was in the works they said that the peripherals would work with Rock Band as well.  I know the guitar controller and mic works and I swear I got the drums to work once with Rock Band 2.  The other day I had everything set up to play Rock Band 2 with some friends but couldnt get the drums from World Tour to work with the game.  Has anyone tried this to confirm if it works or not or had a similar problem?

Ive had this same problem intermittently and cant figure out whats causing it.  Ive put posts up on Rock Bands website and on Guitar Heroes but havent gotten and concrete solutions.  If I hear anything Ill put it up here.   For me it seems like 9 out of 10 times itll work but that one time it desnt there isnt anything that fixes it.  Its strange and frustrating because I like the GHWT drums better and sold my RB ones.
