In the latest OXM Podcast, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos confirms that the Xbox 360 guitars for Rock Band are wired in the bundles. There will be wired and wireless versions available for the Xbox 360, but once again, the retail bundles will come with a wired guitar. The PS3 guitars are all wireless. The Xbox 360 bundle will also come with a USB hub for all the peripherals to plug into. On both the Xbox 360 and PS3 version the microphone and drum kit will be wired. Rigopulos says, "The cost of wireless technology on the Microsoft side is higher and to be able to offer those bundles at a price point that would be reasonable for consumers it was necessary ... on the 360 side we are also bundling a hub."

MS should have offered to offset the wireless costs. They need to at least be apple to apple with PS3.

Who cares, hell saves on batteries and it means its usable with the PC with out that Wireless adapter. I ain't complaining.
EDIT: oh and I hope the USB hub sticks with the theme of the game and looks great.

What a load of bs. I cant believe that with electronics at an all time low combined with bulk purchasing they cant include it for an extra 10 - 20 dollars,

Explain to me if the problem is the wireless technology cost more, why is it included for the ps3 for cheaper?

The reason it costs more is Microsoft's licensing fees. Microsoft's wireless controllers use a proprietary standard, PS3's controllers just use Bluetooth.

Then you would probably complain about it being too pricey compared to the PS3.

I'm glad about the usb hub included in the package. i didn't know how it was going to work out.

the set price for a bundle isnt much different that buying everything individually right? i might just get everything separately. i guess if the mic and drums are wired.... whats not having the rest wireless going to matter. Right?

Oh well

The drum kit being wired isn't so bad, but the guitar being wired is lame.

I can't understand how a game that is going to be launched in less than 3 months don't have until now an official price. It makes me wonder if all that people from EA saying that the game would be less than U$199 was just an load of BS and that will be the real price.

no im just sick of things not being done properly the first time. Money isnt the issue here, usability is. Why go all next-gen without cords then keep going back and forth... 2steps forward 1 step back seems to be the microsoft way.

RedOctane has wireless guitars for Gutar Hero III. I would be blaming Harmonix, not Microsoft. They chose to not make it wireless, it wasn't Microsoft. Microsoft has wireless licensing that Harmonix didn't want to pay the fee for.

why in the @#$! DOES MS think they can stick us with rediculus wireless prices at least if there gonna rip us off make the shit worth the prices. like the wireless controller that feels like 10 pounds compared to the pos3 controller, or the $100 network card but for the computer there 5 bucks but now that it has the Microsoft name on its value increases $95. at least we get and option with 360 to buy crap so if were never gonna use wirless we dont need to get charged extra. and when i want to buy and hd dvd player it will be $25 in a year (just like old dvd players) , but not the 360 one im sure it will be $100 forever. oh wait i forgot the wireless headset im sure that was EXTREALY difficult to develope NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTT.
