Samba Problems W/xp Pro Sp1a
« on: March 04, 2004, 08:02:00 PM »

I get access denied when trying to get to shares on my PC, and when I turn on account logon auditing I get this in my log,

CODE
Logon Failure:
Reason:  Unknown user name or bad password
 User Name:   xbox
 Domain:  WORKGROUP
 Logon Type:   3
 Logon Process:   NtLmSsp
 Authentication Package:   MS_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0
 Workstation Name:   XBOX

However, in my configuration file I clearly tell it the Domain is SCOTT, not Workgroup.  I assume thats whats killing the connection.  any ideas?

The xbox user definitely has both permissions to the shared folder on the drive, and to the permission itself.

CODE

 Downloads
 smb://SCOTT;xbox:[email protected]/movies/

I have also verified that the username and password are correct.

I'm going to try making a local user to see if is any more successfull, but this should theoretically work, and does with XBMP.

Thanks,  <

When I created a local (non domain) account it worked just fine, and I removed the domain entry on the <path> line.  <
