also in the interview you can hear them stating how the programmers wanted to start over with the code once they got the final dev kits because there is so much untapped power in the machine without proper coding and optimizing which to me bodes well for future games

yeah he says the programmers want to re-write it again from the ground up or something along those lines.

Similar to what happened with halo1 and halo 2.........they reworked the code and got twice the performance out the system.

i dont think so if you can pull up the photomode right in the middle of a race. thats like saying that pausing the screen would upscale the screen to 720p.
