Unable To Play Wmv Files Correctly
« on: March 04, 2004, 05:59:00 AM »

I've been unsuccessful getting my wmv files to play in XBMC. I've tried the 02-12 build and the 03-02 build with the latest codecs but I still can't get them to display correctly. The codecs I'm using work fine in XBMP with these same videos.

I make my wmv files using XP's movie maker. I use the 'Video for local playback (2.1 Mbps NTSC)' setting which comes out as: 2060 kbps, 720 x 480, audio-Windows Media Audio 9 160 kbps, 44 kHz, stereo (A/V) 1-pass CBR, video-Windows Media Video 9 Professional.

My videos are usually 15-30 minutes long. The audio sounds fine but the video appears as multiple coloured lines on about a 30 degree angle.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be appreciated.  <

Yes. I've got the latest dll's, which I verified work when used in XBMP. They just don't work for me when I use them with XBMC. I don't see many posts about this so it must be something I'm doing wrong but I can't figure out what.

BTW - I put those dll's in xbmc\mplayer\codecs.
