I purchased PDZ as my launch game and after about 3 to 4 hours I just decided to play Live Arcade. The next day I bought NFSMW and CoD2 and I now finally love my 360 like I should. I wanted so hard to like PDZ, but I guess I'm halo spoiled. I need a jump button! Also, something about the size of the screen seemed odd, kinda like I was zoomed in 2 much. I don't know, its just I really wanted to like it but everytime I played  it felt like a chore.

Yeh i admit that i havent been blown away by PDZ either but i do enjoy the game for the amount of time ive played it. I'll admit thats another game that hasnt lived up to the hype. It took me a while to get into Halo tho at first. I just couldnt get used to the slow pace of everything, again i think thats because ive been spoilt with PC FPS games like Doom, Halflife, SOF etc. As time went on i grew to love halo for its twisting storyline and some good levels. But as for halo online i didnt like it one bit, again that was due to my love of unreal tournament and Counter strike etc. Anyways thats always been the beauty of videogames. Some you love and hate. Some you hate and then begin to love etc etc. I wouldnt say the launch games for 360 have been outstanding, but i remember saying the same with PS2 etc. Im personally looking forward to Resident evil 5, Fight night Rd 3 and another forza motorsport, mainly because im such a fan of the originals and i cant wait to see what original material gets released............HOLD ON.. this thread has gone well off topic...sorry guys, me and my mouth  jester.gif  jester.gif

any one who thinks perfect dark zero is getting bad remarks because its not some kind of halo killer is a moron and obviously dosent know what good game play is.
halo has nothing to do with the fact that people dotn like PD0, there are other shooters
out right now and guess what people love them are they halo?
are they being compared to halo?
NO
so shut your face.
perfect dark zero is not only an easy game but it lacks any fun game play.
the ai is retarted andthere is too much focus on the graphics.
it is a bad game...its the number 1 returned (for preowned sale) game at my local EB.

WOW shut my face! I wont even rise to the bait my friend and resort to a slanging match!!
I even stated on my last post my feelings on various games etc. I like PD0 but did i tell you to shut your face? I like Halo!!! WOW shock horror, i just stated that it was overhyped much like PD0 was. I like both games and yes its always the case of "this games better than that because..."
End of the day its just our own opinions and ultimately if we enjoy the game and others dont, well so what!!

pdz disapointed me alot. I am a massive pd and goldeneye fan. Still have my n64 chillin in my bedroom. cool.gif  As people have said i cannot get over the controls and now im playing the game just to try and get my moneys worth, not for fun.
So the rule stands i think, if you expected you got disapointed.
Hopefully whatever Rare do next in the fps area will be alot better. Perhaps Free Radical will beat them to it.

I think it all felt very...how do I say this...

Generic?

does that make sense?

Maps/environments were generic. I didnt like the game mechanics at all. I thought Id like it online but that left a lot to be desired too.

Put it this way, if I had to pick between this and Halo 2, I might actually pick Halo 2, and people who know me understand what Im trying to get across  laugh.gif

I thought that the single player campaign was good, alot of people say that it sucked.  Perfect Dark Zero online owns Call Of Duty 2 in multiplayer.

You know, I was thinking this thing over: why do people keep on comparing everything to Halo, even the compared games that don't resemble it at all. But then I understood that none of us compare the games based on the gameplay or graphics, but the impact they've made to us back then. There's just something to having a kickass game that sneaks up from behind, blows our minds and basically steals our lifes, making us neglect all our friends and completely forget about our school and work.

There's just something absolutely great about it. As sad as it is.

At the moment neither of the FPS games for x360 can't do anything remotely like that to me, and that's why they both feel somewhat tame. I can play them, yes, but I can also easily be without playing them.

Here's hoping for that GOW would be able to ruin my life for a few weeks.

I would personally have liked to see a conversion of Halflife 2 for the 360. I dont mind the xbox version but i feel that they should of waited and released it. It is a next gen shooter after all!
Does anyone know if they plan to release a wireless keyboard and mouse for the 360. I dont mine using the pad but nothing beats the pc combo for FPS games!

rfmok, rest assured.

I finally got to play PDZ myself and I agree with Gamespot's rating so far.
I just don't understand what people were expecting out of this one.
Once you get used to it's aiming system, the game turns out to be a great game.
It really started growing on me after the second sitting.
The first couple of levels might turn many off, but it really picks up after that.

So far I'm impressed with it's "next gen" graphics (yeah I was a bit worried after reading some of the complaints), the game really looks great.
My current rating for the game based on what I've played is about 9 out of 10.
Here's hoping it stays that way smile.gif

I think it would have been so sweet if they ported over the original PD to the xbox 360, or just rereleased Perfect Dark with better graphics. The whole stealing enemies weapons, the blood, and the artificial intelligence was superb. I really enjoyed the way the enemies reacted to being shot in various locations on their bodies. for instance if you shot their leg, they'd limp after you. I found it pretty amusing taking their guns then shooting them and seeing them try to catch up with me with their busted kneecap.
What Im trying to say is with upgraded graphics, the original perfect dark would kick some serious ass.
