I'm a fan of the original N64 titles, but atm I'm not holding my breath for this one. It's been such a long time they've released any decent. And no, I didn't care for the rehashed Conker that much.

It's very fishy that they don't show us any decent screenshots. Hopefully they'll release some kick-ass footage soon, I really love to be wrong when it comes to underestimating a game.

I just can't believe how much faith so many people have in a game company that has been biting nuts since the original PD.

In fact Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Banjo Kazooie are their only 'A' quality games. Jet Force was just above average, likewise with Diddy Kong Racing, Conkers was funny and fun in parts but the game itself wasn't much chop, then we had the absolute dud that was Grabbed by the Ghoulies on Xbox, followed by an over-hyped and over-rated Conkers also for Xbox.

This could be a case of a company being very good for their time but not being able to cut it as technology progressed. I hope this isn't the case, because I want PD and any other game they make to be breathtaking, but time will tell.

other then grabbed by the goulies and the original perfect dark, i thought all of RARES titles excelled in their genre.  conkers cracked me up and looked/looks gorgeous for a N64 and xbox titles.  banjo didnt interest me at all because i dont really dig platformers at all (only sonic and conkers have held any interest) and goldeneye was a marvel for the time.  diddy kong racing was a great cart game, even though i hate those too, and was considered by some to be better then mario kart 64.  both jet force and perfect dark had great potential but were held back by technical limitations IMO.  never cared for killer instinct but it had its querks.

all said and done i have faith in RARE for the next gen, im just a bit skeptical on how PDZ turns out.

Yeah. The people from the Goldeneye and Perfect Dark team are making the Timesplitters games, but they haven't urned out to be spectacular or anything. They are good games, but not on par with goldeneye.

If you ask me, the new designers at rare look great. Kameo is looking fine on it's own, I'll be interested in what will be said about PD0.

My favorite N64 game was and still is Super Smash Brothers. Me and my brother go at it every once in a while. Enormous amount of skill is required to be competitive in that game, unlike in the Gamecube version. Comparing Super Smash bros on n64 to Super Smash bros Melee on gc is kinda like comparing Halo1 to Halo2.
