Top Level Shares
« on: February 22, 2004, 10:20:00 AM »

Ok, I have 4 comps using relax right now in my xbmc setup. I want to switch to SMB but I need to be able to set up top level shares in the xbmc config and I dunno if it supports it. I'm going for something like this:

<bookmark>
!-- No path, dummy top level share --!
<name>Computer 1</name>
   <bookmark>
       <name>SMB 1</name>
       <path>smb://Xbox:Xbox@ComputerIP/videos on e</path>
   </bookmark>
   <bookmark>
       <name>SMB 2</name>
       <path>smb://Xbox:Xbox@ComputerIP/videos on f</path>
   </bookmark>
</bookmark>

Also anyone else have probs with the new stacking logic? I've got some shares with multiple episodes of shows, sometimes as many as a hundred something. But since the filenames are 90% similar they all get stacked... doesn't really work too well.  <

I have been doing some forum reading today, and i luckily saw answers to both your questions.........

SMB has a bug currently, it will not allow top level shares, you will have to put the media in a directory for now, i think they are trying to implement a fix for the next release, and also the only way around the stacking is to use the stack/unstack button, which in XBMC is easily accessable in the my videos menu.
