Xbmc As Dashboard Wont Work?
« on: February 16, 2004, 06:58:00 AM »

I changed the name of default.xbe to in my case "yboxdash.xbe" and moved it to the C drive.

I copyed my .xml file to the c drive.

In the .xml I put my home path to be "e:/apps/xbmc" which is correct.

For some reason though, it does not load.  Am I missing something.

I'm really doing this for the weather, my wife would love it.

Is there a better dashboard one would recommend for this?  I like the interface in xbmc.

Thanks  <

Maybe if you used the right \

<home>e:\apps\xbmc\</home>

not

<home>e:/apps/xbmc</home>

Thats a good point.

I'll check when I get home from work.

I just copied the patch from my FTP program, but that may have been showing me the path as if in UNIX, foward slash.

Darn UNIX vs DOS.

I thought I tried both ways, but I could be wrong.

I had the same problem - configured xml file correctly yet when xbox booted it hung on xbox logo screen - I reset with slayers on cd and ftp'd to xbox - my c now had some new folders created - (xbmc folders - I now realise that I needed to edit the folder parts of the xml script - the ones with $HOME$ in them - DOH)

After looking on xbmc forum I opted for the noob way out - I copied all the contents of xbmc folder to C.

Booted but with and error could not load settings - finally I deleted the xbmc game save in E:\UDATA - everything working well now - just need to tweak a few things (already edited out the Weather)

Just need to organise folders to suit -

Excellent prog
