I'm all hyped out when it comes to Halo. I think deep inside some cave in Afghanistan, Osama Bin Laden is even mentioning it in his new video release.  laugh.gif

In the Redmond area all the Microsoft vehicles have had Halo 3 ads based on this campaign for weeks. (There are company-owned vehicles used to get from one end of the campus to the other, and for any other local company-related driving, in addition to dedicated security vehicles that drive around the area 24/7.)

I'm not sure if this ad campaign is going to catch the eye of the main demographic.  You guys can disagree but I think the main demographic is 15-20.  Most of which like explosions gun shooting and graphics rather than story line, character development and heartfelt old veterans.

Man they are going all out this time around.  With this and the original Gears commercial I think Microsoft has really done well advertising their games in unorthodox but effective ways.

OK i will disagree, the main demographic 33-40 and that is why they are releasing these commercials first. tongue.gif

I seriously can't see them just finishing this franchise once Halo 3 is finish, I'm sure next time it will be "rise from the dead" or something on the Xbox 720.

I don't know how accurate that site is..

2.  Sixty-seven percent of American heads of households play computer and video games
10.  Forty-nine percent of game players say they play games online one or more hours per week.

301 Million ppl in USA.  That would mean 100 Million ppl play games online.

Aren't there like..  7 Million XBL users?   rolleyes.gif

I think this is my favorite Halo 3 video, except for the announcement trailer. This really does give the feel of how desperate the game is supposed to be. Humans fighting for their very existence, given hope by the Master Chief. As for going after the demographic, I'm almost 18, and as I stated previously, I thought it was amazing.

Umm, just watched the video...i know where they were trying to go, but IMO i reckon it sucked, sadly to say. As soon as they said master chief, it just made it sound lame. It was a good ad, but just a bit silly.

I know how good they can be, from that first one we saw months ago with the kids in the grass looking at the night sky, so heres hoping the next one is more action packed.

They do it well though, if the ads were focused on boasting about the games graphics or quality, ppl would push it away, but going with the story like that is a good idea.

Am I the only one who found this tasteless?

Seriously, it's poking fun at WWII vets.
