lol, no.

i think it funny that so many people try to deny the impact that Halo has had on the entire entertainment industry.  i guess that even holding the record (will break it again 9/25) for the most initial sales of any entertainment product (video games, CDs, movies, etc) isn't enough.  well...to each his own.  just like i could not care less about frodo and the whole "lord of the rings" garbage - i still respect that it has captured the interests of so many people.

the first video game character to be enshrined in Madame Tussauds - congrats and good work on the statue...the Chief looks great

H3 is coming...and there is nothing that can stop the force...

the whole "lord of the rings" garbage

unfuckingbelievable.

I know everyone is different... but I canNOT see how anyone can truthfully honestly use such a word(garbage) to describe The Lord of the Rings series, the books or the movies.

*edit  LOL and the 7 foot clay statue of the Chief is cool, would look great in my house.

Halo owns.  No master chief isn't my hero, i don't care about the story, i never even beat halo 2 single player, but destroying people on live is where it's at. halo 3 is going to smash all records.  I played the beta and i don't care what anyone says, it was great, graphics, gameplay, sound, everything was SWEET.  all the geek PC gamers that hate on halo or people who get owned at FPS should not even come to a thread with Halo in the title.

One question: Who the füçk is Pete Wentz, and why is he relevant to anything XBOX and Halo related?

Ugh... The whole "celebrity thing" just gets on my nerves...

He is the bassist for some gay talentless emo band.

Gay emo band members and Master Chief don't go well together.

Why is everyone in love with Master Chief and Halo? He has no friggin emotion and barely even talks! At least the Doom Guy made faces at the bottom of the screen...

gamekill and solid, clearly you have NEVER read the halo books that complement the story of the games, if you would have read 'em you would have never made such bull**it posts.
you should be glad, this is a big step to getting video games to be accepted as a common thing of modern culture

I almost never post on the forums, just read it. But it was TOO much to read what that retard was PAID to say and not express my fury:

Who the FUCK does he think he is to compare Master Chief with timeless heroes such as Luke Skywalker etc?

I hope you're kidding.  Luke Skywalker is just as fake as Master Chief, and definitely more efeminite.  If you're not kidding I bet you spend most of your time dogding bullies at school.  Don't get me wrong, I like star wars, and I worship neither of these characters, but Master Chief is just as cool and influential a fictional character than anything in pop culture history.

OK I respect everyone's opinions, even though I really am not impressed by Master Chief.

And someone said I must dodge bullies at school lol, I am more of the opposite smile.gif

Anyway, I just think it's wrong to say that Master Chief is the choice to represent video games characters as a whole in a museum, let alone to represent gaming as a culture... there are tons of more influential and substantial GAMING characters. I don't know about the books, they might be awesome indeed, but they're not games, you know what I mean? The Matrix movies rocked, the games where shit...

It's really pretty obvious that M$ has the $ to force and manipulate any public opinion they wish. Sad but true...
