exactly...it doesn't matter who within Sony did this or their original intent - they got traced and caught and it reflected on the entire company and their desperation with their drastically slipping grip on the future console gaming industry.  sure, the PS2 is still doing very well, but the PS3 after almost a year of being out has only gathered under 17% of the next-gen market share.  i like sony products, but i have to admit that their pride in their previous position in the gaming industry, the poor decision with blu-ray, and a terrible online gaming service have combined to completely damn them in this new generation....

Microsoft should sue Sony for slander, they'd probably even win from them.
Sony should learn they can't keep acting like such terrible fatnecks all the time, they give japanese corporations a bad name, they install rootkits with their flash sticks and music CD's, they diss competition all the time with no decent points.

really, sony should learn to shut up, their age is over, they should accept it.

You know here in the states it's the same way with politics... most say they can do this and that, then spend the rest of the time down talking their competition.  Althought they never seem to back-up what they promised.  I figure it's just nature here when we see and hear our "leaders" doing it.   Of course these companies are global so this shouldn't be a viable excuse.

Personally I think it's likely to be someone in the middle of the company, not just some ordinary joe. A manager in a PR department or something who saw a "foolproof" (and low down and dirty) way reduce the hype for Halo3 and hopefully improve their sales figures!

ok 1st off let me say that im one of the ones that think Halo is absolute garbage.  Halo is nothing new.  To me its all just doom, wolfstein, halflife ect.  Halo just has a makeover with its looks.  Anyways, thought id get that out of the way.  Ya know, as much as i love sony and the ps1 and ps2, id be lying if i said that its not frusterating right now in what they are doing.  Price is still ridiculous!  M$ aint too much better themselves.  One rep from Nintendo said it best "despite what our competition might say, they are not going after a mainstream/casula audiance.  Not with those prices, and not with those heavy FPS lineup".  So true.  me being never a fan of FPS (too me they just got repetative), halo has created a figure head for M$ which translate to gr8 marketing.  halo3 will all likely break all types of records.  sony relizes they need to to something NOW!  They messed up with the launch and still cant seem to win even the old skool hard core gamer right now.  they might in the end, as of right now they are in a distant 3rd.  while this info posted on wiki couldve been from ANYONE, ppl should not jump the gun and start thinking conspiricacy.     Bottom line is that Sony knows that halo 3 is gonna take the nation by storm, and that altering wiki is not gonna make little jhonny son of a bitch over here say i dont want this game anymore after reading this.  The 360 has no games im really looking foward to other than gears of war 2.  thats just me.  sony, MGS is what i would buy a ps3 over.  GTA.......ehhhhhh that series is getting old and repetative.  In the end, Sony i highly doubt orchestrated this.  Just some joe smoe at sony.  So b4 yall start chasing me with torches and pitchforks cuz i dont like halo, lets just be clear that halo is gonna be sucessful and i hope that in the end that M$ and Sony learn from their mistakes and keep the consumer in mind with thier products and that most of us perfer substance over style.
