It was most likely some guy who happened to be working for sony who edited it while bored at work or who thought the game was overhyped, i doubt their PR group made some calls to have people edit it

that dont make any difference.

companies as big as sony strive to let their employees know that they represent their company. whether at work, or at home, or in a bar. anything you do/say related to the company, represents it. a slander like that from an employee, not under heat, should either come with an apology from the company, or termination of the employee who did that.

either way, its pretty bad. sony is likely gonna have to respond with some bs now

Can you honestly tell me that you've never slandered anyone, any company, or a persons intellectual property? I hope you don't really think someone should lose their job over bashing Halo 3's graphics.

All of you that think Some big wig at Sony is behind this or it is a planned stunt are deluding yourselves.
It will be some nobody that works there pissing around on the internet. Maybe he thought it was clever and a laugh, but he will get the sack for his misuse.

This is MUCH more realistic than the (retarded) idea that Sony wasted their time for a kiddie potshot that only stirs and advertises the Halo name.

The corporates may or may not envy the 360's superior library, but they're still rich cats and have far better to do. Also the company would never have overlooked that this is free advertising for the competition. With the type of PR dept such a big company is sure to wield, believing that they circumvented it just for a grade-school jab is kind of retarded.

Mike is right. They can't constantly control every fool. More realistic odds say that overenthusiastic sony fans were working cubicle jobs, started talking about games, got around to reasons they don't personally enjoy Halo, then eventually posted that for a quick laugh.

The bottom line, contrary to the hysterically stupid fanboy in that article, is that sony probably didn't 'secretly wiki-dis' anything. Let the drama over this game die. It's needless.

like it matters in the first place....no ones gonna go off of that wiki page whether to buy it or not...halo is the biggest game ever created and sony has nothing to answer for it.

What, you don't think that PS3 will have an answer... maybe you're right. I was looking at the game sets for each system over the holidays, and only a couple PS3 exclusives even look rentable, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and... OK maybe just one.

Besides H3, the 360 exclusives don't look that hot either with the exception being Mass Effect.... maybe. It would have been nice to play GTA4 this year, as it would have made for a better season indeed. Once again, you can thank Sony for implementing their own technology to make the PS3 the hardest thing ever to program for, in turn, making everyone else wait because they cant release them 4 months apart. Thanks Sony grr.gif

because, as we know, games were never delayed before the ps3 came out, never

when your on your own companies inet slandering over the net against competition yeah it has grounds for that shit.

if you worked for say mcdonalds, and went aorund wearing your work shirt saying how burger kings burgers suck ass, and it gets to the media and they can track it back to you, you bet your ass ur gonna get a pretty steep punishment or termination for it.

i slander alot of things. but i dont slander from my works internet publically. when im around wearing my work clothes that contain a nice company logo on them i act like im with a customer rep.

things may be different for small companies or whatever, but when your work is big, and has alot to lose, your employer will take slander very seriously if its gonna get them into some trouble like this will (with the media)

I actually don't doubt Sony endorsed this action. (even.,. if it was to laugh at it after the fact and not correct it when some un-named employee took 2 minutes to screw with wikipedia instead of working to pump out something we can actually enjoy on the ps3)

Sony has launched a number of attempts in the recent past to mislead the public and were caught during those attempts as well. Most notably the "independent" fan blogs.

When will Sony, and for that matter all the devs realize that the best way to push your product is to make a good product and support it. Bashing the competition and trying to trash talk them does little to move your own products. It does show that their own product is weak when the best they can do is shit on other products.

Nintendo didn't have to shit talk anyone and they're currently successful.

MS isn't shit talking the PS3, although to do alot of product comparisons but that isn't quite the same. Despite glaring hardware issues, MS is successful.

Sony will need to focus on the PS3, and the PS3 alone in order to improve it. (while it makes good money sense to support the ps2 during the next 4 years which they've stated they will.. that's time, money, and resources NOT focused on the PS3.)

Alot of people shit on MS for dropping support on the original Xbox. But.. at least they went full throttle with the new console, ready or not.

PS3 needs the same support. The console needs to be more competitive, whether that means a better price or bundling I don't know.

Having powerful tech under the hood clearly isn't enough to push the ps3 into the hearts and homes of the ps faithful. given the ps2 installed base.. if the ps3 had anything worth playing on it I'm convinved it would be sold it 24/7 and have double the wii and 360 game sales combined. Instead, the Ps3 has the lowest console sales, and the lowest in the more important attach rates. (rate at which people buy games, and add-ons)

Heading into the 1 year anniversary I've seen stories where the attach rate is something like 2 games and 1 movie and one controller per ps3 sold. (I've also seen better rates posted.. but I put a lower stock on some of those fanboy reports.)

Sony can, and will likely be the king again. they simply have to decide to focas on the product.

Haha, nice try Sony employee. Knowing that they were going to get caught (WikiScanner sees everything) eventually they should have attempted to make a valid point.

Saying that halo3 is going to look no better than halo2 is stupid, because lets face it, Bungie could sit on their asses and do nothing for a few years (graphics wise) and the game would still look better on the xbox 360, just because of the better hardware (ie: on the fly anti aliasing). I do think halo3 looks much better than halo2 (hell, halo looked better than halo2), despite the fact that the MC looks like a plastic POS  laugh.gif

This incident proves how far wikipedia can be from the truth sometimes.

Halo 3 looks better than Halo 2 (in my opinion, it looks 100x better). If you say that Halo 3 is that same as Halo 2, then you're either biased or blind.
