Bungie: Retailers Don't Have Halo 3 Yet
Posted by XanTium | August 31 23:45 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Some blog sites have been reporting that Halo3 games hit retail stores already (with pictures of Halo3 boxes), but it's obvious Bungie is not gonna ship their game 25 days early to retailers ... and anyone who visited a retail store recently knows these (empty) display boxes are everywhere (at least here in Europe). Anyway, if you're still in doubt...

We don't know who REDDOGG is... he could be MS, it may even be someone at Bungie who is out of the office and grabbed a disc.
At this point, a FEW people have legitimate copies of the game. These people are not supposed to be playing the game on Xbox LIVE.

No actual copies are available to any retailers yet. The photos that surfaced earlier were EMPTY promotional/pre-order copies of the game. Many retailers have had these for a while now. It was a hoax.

However, we are just days away from real copies starting to legitimately leave the manufacturing plant. We are doing everything we can to try and keep the game story secret and not have the game get out early but sadly this is probably inevitable. The earliest anyone will officially get a copy is some members of press which will be around 9/22. Reviewers are playing it beforehand but only at Bungie or MGS controlled events. Nobody gets a disc. And then their reviews are under an embargo until 9/23 and even then, they are agreeing to not disclose story spoilers in their articles. We're trying our best but once this baby gets momentum nobody will be able to contain it.

Well then it's possible that REDDOGG will leak it, whoever he is.

this all reminds me of the days (or shall i say almost a month) before the release of H2 and the French version that found its was to thousands of gamers before the "official' release...i do hope that bungie can keep tighter reigns on this game as i am anticipating Sept 25 so much...

glad to see that they at least understand the intensity that so many people want this game as they describe the "momentum" force and how nobody can contain it...

it will be here soon enough...stay away from headlines to prevent spoilers - esp if somebody releases this early...

as usual.. hyped up game that aint that great but will sell like crazy.

no offense to fans of the game... but i just dont see whats so "special" about halo in general... it just seems like "another shooter" to me... nothing that stands out about it... the weapons in the game aint that great and the main character aint that interesting overall.

o well, i guess everyone has there opinions wink.gif

true, true...to each his own and we are all entitled to our opinions...

and i say that this is a very appropriately hyped game since it will break all current standing records relating to video game and even movie sales - another industry first.  the storyline is extremely impressive as well as the main character and the weapons - it has even encouraged me to read all of the books and i am halfway through the second of the series...

it will be a very long time until another game or franchise can begin to match the sales , hours of online game play, and the records of "Halo"...

weapons?, me personally i prefer realistic weapons (basically military type stuff) and not those futuristic stuff u see in halo.... main character wise, i think strictly "character wise", 47 from the hitman series is by far the "most interesting" video game character (for me) period. master chief dont even come close in my opinion... and i cant wait til the hitman movie this oct wink.gif (but i gotta admit im interested in hitman movies/mob movies... The Professional from 1994 is one of my top movies) ... but anyways, i think your pretty much dead on when it comes to halo3 selling like crazy and breaking records cause if i recall i think halo2 sold something like 2million copies in it's first weekEND of release.

from the sound of it... it appears your a BIGTIME halo fan, but i can respect that wink.gif ... but ill take Counter-Strike Source over it anyday as online/multiplayer wise i think Counter-Strike/Counter-Strike Source is by far my best shooter from a multiplayer/online perspective... ill admit, i cant play shooters on consoles (i cant aim with analog stick worth a damn compared to mouse etc etc) so im sure that has something to do for me not caring much about halo. but i think even if i was good with a analog stick i still dont think i would care for halo all THAT MUCH... to bad most of my younger teenage cousins play that and thats about all they play shooter wise when they get together lol... and as the saying goes "if u cant beat em, join em", but the thing is when i try to join em i suck so bad i basically cant even enjoy it at all. sad.gif lol

but anyways have a good one wink.gif ... im glad we can talk about it without starting a flame war. lol

I know one thing..... this game better have a damn ending to it. I seriously doubt I could play "Halo 4" after going through 3 and seeing that there's another "The battle has just begun" with a dumbass ending.....

i agree about the non-flame war stuff - you see it too much on forums unfortunately.

you make some very good points (esp about the Hitman series) and I haven't really played CounterStrike much at all so I cannot make any opinions either way concerning that game series.

i grew up on the NES and have not really been much into gaming in my adult life since college except for the command & conquer series until I found Halo several years ago - it was the first game that brought together several of my friends that were not "gamers" and we have kept in touch across the US by playing online ever since...and that has helped me to appreciate the franchise...

have a good one as well...

I'm pretty sure thats the real deal.  The reason I think so is cause the H2 French version was leaked so early.  Bungie is just not hoping for a H3 version leak.

hell, i grew up on nes to wink.gif ... we must be in similar age bracket.... i even played atari 2600 a little to but basically, i grew up in the NES days is when i was a young kid.

i see how it is with you though... so basically your pretty much the casual gamer and u just dont got "the time" to play games even if u wanted to ... i play games a decent ammount but im pretty picky on what i play... XBox360 wise though the only reason (as of now) why i got it was for Forza Motorsport 2... if that game was not on the 360 i would not have a 360 to this day lol.... there was other games on the 360 that where nice like NFS:most wanted but i already had that on original xbox1 console and paying 400dollars ish for a 360 would not have been justified getting basically the same game but with better graphics/frame rate.

but anyways have a good one and a good future ... im outta here wink.gif
