well that and i think the game needs another pass of AA

Amen to that!  I have said that from day one, and people have put it down with the whole "its only a beta" thing...well...its also only a setting that I am sure the GPU can handle.

well the whole "it's only a beta" does have some truth behind it, because this is not the final build we dont know if they will add another level of AA for the final game, which is what is planned.  regardless, this beta is a good example to what to expect graphically for the MP when it comes to the final build.

In regards to the assualt rifle start... clip is too small!

Amen to that... I believe (it's been awhile) but in Halo 1 the AR had a 60 round mag.

they lowered the clip size and upped the power and accuracy of it.  they wanted to make sure the gun had a balanced use in the field while still supporting the other key factors of halo's combat: grenades and melee attacks.

i agree that i wish the gun had a larger clip, seems like the only way to get a kill from it now is if you hit them with at least 90% of the clip.   huh.gif

I only have two small complaints

1 the spiker grenades don't seem to do much damage...jumping in the air pretty much allows you to avoid any type of serious damage. I've thrown 2 of them at someone while they were trapped in a corner and it still took a full clip from the assault rifle and a melee attack to finish them off. other than that, the other grenades are fine I guess except their blast damage seems a little inconsistent

2 (this is a really small complaint) the background area around the sniper rifle is too dark now when you zoom in...I used to be able to see other objects (combatants) in my peripheral view but now its just a black background...id like a little more transparency.

other than that it seems like bungie is about to release another hit.

P.S. I'm glad they boosted the shotguns back to their original badassness from halo 1  tongue.gif

1- Do not give me a bloody 3rd person view when I'm wielding a gun in an FPS. Just don't.

2- Mongoose is cool- but the physics just seem terrible. Well, perhaps not the physics, I guess what I really need is the whole tactile feedback jank. I want to FEEL the mongoose moving.

3- I'm not really liking the items. The portable launcher dealy can come in handy I guess..

4- Graphics don't even seem that great. Definitely not what I expected.

5- Grenades are..meh. Very different compared to Halo 2...The spike grenade (whatever it's called) is good...in theory. But, I just don't like it.

Umm...other than that...Everything else seems okay. I'll probably come back with more...

lol i think you listed everything they added to Halo 3 besides the Spartan Laser and Spikers.  laugh.gif

I think the game is starting to grow on me.  The things that I thought were unbalanced before (Warthog) are starting to seem just right.  All weapons have there strenghs and weaknesses.  Each grenade works for different situations (Although I prefer the spike grenade for almost any situation smile.gif ).  Bungie is def. on the right track with this.

I now think that the Warthog should not be able to be killed by a single guy without the right weapons.  It should, as it does, be able to take a few nades and keep on truckin.  A spartan laser or a rocket should destroy the hog though.

Spike grenades are amazing btw.

I wouldn't change anything right now, except maybe give a little more advantage to duel wielding.

The Hogs are great.  Its more like Halo except you can't really flip the hogs if you land a frag under them, which is too bad.

the only complaint I have with the game is the reload.  In halo 1 and 2 (and a lot of other FPS's) if the clip was back in the gun and you threw a nade or hit or switched weapons it ould still be reloaded but it feels like I have to reload the gun twice if I need to throw a nade when the new clip is in.

i dont really like the random blowing up. everything blows up! theres too much random shit that blows up.

also, im sure this is just a beta thing and will be fixed, but when host leaves the game now it takes an eternity to get back into the game. ive actually only seen it return 1 time. i usually get to impatient and restart my console.

I guess one of my main problems is the grenades. Its mainly just because your throw doesnt have the same kind of arc it did originally in the past games. I feel like everytime i throw a grenade it almost goes straight down instead of having distance. This adds some kind of realism to the game...but I know sure as hell when I throw things they dont go straight to the ground...so that should probably be fixed.

Another problem I have is with the mongoose. It flips way too easy. I mean I drive quads all the time and you atleast have some sense of stability, however, with the mongoose it seems like it weighs almost nothing and almost anything can flip it...and when it does flip it does it a million times (depends on speed I guess too). Other than that I really havent had any huge issues with the game minus the graphics, which are going to be enhanced significantly according to bungie. So I guess we will see what happens there.

ps,
to the ppl ripping on the laser, dont hate on it because you arent good with it smile.gif.
