Actually you are looking at it all wrong, It doesn't matter how much a copy or crackdown is or a copy of the beta release if Microsoft released the beta for $50 people would still buy it. I mean not everyones poor they do have money to just throw away and this would be something that works for them. Its like a month subscription to play halo 3, what about the $50 you paid for live its the same thing (just shorter) Almost no one bought Crackdown for the Halo 3 beta. instead People bough the Halo3 beta and crackdown just so happened to be bundled with it as a add on. I bet ebay will be flooded with crackdowns after the beta. This is also the same thing as the ps3 launch. They expected more consoles than was released. How would you feel if you preordered a ps3 to find out you wouldn't get one on launch day because sony messed up and never shipped them!! So you waited all night out in front of the store for NOTHING, same concept they bought the halo3 beta then waited all night even called in sick or took a vacation day just to be the first to play it. Again it's just like the ps3 people had to have it the first day and not the second day and if this somehow happened Sony would be having so many lawsuits up there asses. I bet someone will get something from microsofts mess up, They did falsely advertise, And i bet its 100% on purpose, they wanted those VIP members to feel like VIP by getting in on it earlier than the rest and being able to lauph at all the crackdown users complain while they feel how good it is to be VIP.
there was no specific dates or promises made to crackdown users besides the promise of being eligible to participate in the beta preiod. if you own the game, read the invitation and see it for yourself.
to think that someone at bungie, m$ or mgs actually doesnt want those who legitimately deserves the opportunity to enjoy this game beta.
i bet it was simply a programming error.
