OK you need to consider that not everybody who bought this game has Live access so it would be very easy for them to sell their codes on Ebay or something if they dont have a Live account, internet connection or simply have no interest in the beta, this way ensures that those who want to play Crackdown have to buy it as do those who just want the halo beta, it is a bit of a win-win for them really.

And if you flame me like that again by the way, I'll report you to the site admin.

Probably not, this is either just a fuck up pure and simple by Bungie/Microsoft, or its a way of protecting the servers by not allowing everyone with beta access to jump on there at once.

At least I didn't pay $60 for the Crackdown. I rented it yesterday for $10. I had a coupon for rent one get one free so I got Lost Planet out of it too. Ill probably end up renting the the Crackdown again.

I don't care either way...but they should've been prepared for this. I was planning on going home for lunch to play for a few matches but it looks like I'll have to make my way through the rest of the day without my halo fix...stupid microsoft

Of course they should have been, but they weren't, there's no point in complaining about it because there's nothing anybody can do, especially considering that technically it's a free additional extra to a different product.

I know but I just feel like venting...its somewhat therapeutic   but the fact that its free doesn't excuse it...they knew most of the beta testers who bought crackdown, bought it with the added intention of being able to play halo 3 early...its was one of the games highest selling points yet they dropped the ball anyway. ahh well...guess I'll actually get some work done until further notice

I have been hearing 1pm is supposed to be the release time, though I have no idea what time zone that is.  Until then I've just been watching the outlaw master c cam.

Its 4 hours late now.

As long as they get it up by around 12 pm pacific time Ill be happy. My brother is at home sick today so he is going to start it for me when it is up. That will give it about 2 and half hours for it download before i get home from school.

If its not up by then I won't be able to play untill I get off work around 9:30 which would suck.

You would all be just fine with the crackdown idea if it was working. Some of you would have even been so happy that you didn't need to enter a huge 25 digit code bla bla bla


Just so people know there was an update for crackdown early this morning but it seems to have gone away. So, it makes me think if you are just watching the downloads screen in crackdown it might never change. You might need to exit and restart (maybe the update will come back?) then goto downloads again. I didn't get the update b/c I has having mystery network problems at the very moment and by the time it got sorted out ( F U DHCP ) the update was gone.

I have no idea, but thats as close as I come to a good dead.

I downloaded the update for crackdown but it did do shit.   Now I am  going to have to wait unil 5 to start my download.  By that time eveyone will be trying the same thing and I probably won;t haqve the game for another 4 or 5 hours after that.
