yep.  for me, Halo rocked.  I have never been so addicted to a single game in my life, it was insane.  Back to back Lan parties till our eyes bled, entered numerous tournaments, traveled for tournies to different states, myself and my friends couldn't get enough of it...

When Halo 2 came out, we were all severely dissapointed.  I'm not sure if I was just expecting too much, or there was way too much hype or what...  I've played Halo 2 quite a bit but nowhere even close like I did Halo 1.

I'm not expecting anything from Halo 3...  maybe that's good and it'll be suprsingly good.  But all I know is I've got Gears of War, I'm loving that game and it's easily my 2nd all time favorite (next to Halo in it's day).  And ever since GoW has come out, Halo2 has been all by it's lonesome.  Maybe Halo 3 will be awesome, but I'm definetly not expecting anything exceptional or revolutionary.

I couldn't have said it better myself.  Halo 2 lost the atmosphere of Halo 1 (in terms of multiplayer).

Before you go and patronize "everyone" for a single topic name posted by 1 person, perhaps you should read all the posts and make the general conclusion on what the topic meant, not what it literally says.  Obviously they meant the lack of hdd, I highly doubt they said that thinking the core and it's magical differences won't be able to play something even with the hdd addition.  Not to mention the already half dozen times this has been said by other people...so please...save your "explanation" and get off your soapbox.

I hate it when some arrogant wiseass states the obvious and we're supposed to bow down and listen like the ignorant peons we apparently are.

"patronize everyone"
True, if by everyone you mean ONLY the person who titled the topic.

"what the topic meant"
Funny, when I read the words "Halo 3 Beta Via Crackdown Not For Core Owners", I'm appearently the only retard that thought those words meant "Halo 3 Beta Via Crackdown Not For Core Owners"

"already half dozen times this has been said by other people...so please...save your "explanation" and get off your soapbox."
Well I have read the thread about 3 times now and I STILL can't find the post that explains everything I did, could you help me find it? All I seem to find are people saying stuff about the HDD and thats it.

"I hate it when some arrogant wiseass states the obvious"
Well I was just summerizing the information stated by bungie in order to clarify for anyone wanting to know all the info on the beta situation. I guess all that information that I posted was totally obvious to everyone.

Sorry for being a wiseass, maybe I should just start flaming people rather than contributing helpful information to the forum.

I agree. I also miss Halo 1's Physics. I used to love blowing up the warthogs sky high. Try it now...it just blows up  sad.gif

It's not like it's the first time a demo or a sneak peek of a big title is included with the sale of a little known title.

I remember back in the day of the Sony Playstation Pizza Hut had a special demo disk if you buy a pizza. Do you remember what that was? METAL GEAR SOLID! I bought a pizza just for that reason and man was I happy. I played that demo hundreds of times till I finally got the real copy. I know its not the same, but it is similar.

rumor has it, Crackdown is going to include firmware detection to ban those with flashed firmware from xbox live. The Halo 3 demo invite is simply more incentive to get people to buy this game. That's why they are calling it "CRACKDOWN" because they are "Cracking down" on the hackers.

They are calling it Crack Down because you are a cop in the game. The name has nothing to do with xbox 360 hacking. If they wanted to ban the live users that use a modded system, they would release a patch on xbox live, not over just one game.

I can't imagine the Beta being any Larger than 2 gig, as people have said the Multiplayer aspect of Halo 2 was tiny.

I guess we don't know how they are gonna be releasing it, all the maps at once, or a couple every few weeks on a cycle?
