You guys complaining about graphics need to realize that this game is still in production, and won't be out until late next year.
I think"ll definately buy this game. But does it seem like the Halo 1 dev team had alot more passion and direction than those dev teams for H2 and H3? It seems like something definately changed and that passion was lost.

It's amazing that noone mentioned the new mechanics of the brutes totally pulverizing marines. Ripping arms off, stomping them, etc. I think that's a neat addition that would make the game more immersive. Everyone was hung up over how it "looked". All of you jackass graphics whores are what's ruining games. More and more resources are being put into how "pretty" the developers can make a game look, as opposed to how fun the game actually is. Its the same thing that happens to hollywood movies. Overbloated crap that looks pretty, but who wants to sit through it more than once? Yes, graphics can be important, and can give you a wow factor, but its not the MOST important part of the equation. People that truely know games know that pretty graphics do NOT make or break a game. Only imbeciles who are impressed by shiny things put that first and foremost in their opinion of a game.
You my friend are absolutely right. In all honesty, graphics from this gen are not much better than our current gen. I think if game development continues on this route, it's eventually going to hit a point of diminishing returns. Ultimately you will be limited by hardware, and the cost of these consoles is barely within consumer reach as it is. I think game development should be more focused on an involving story or new innovation, and not how pretty a game is. Honestly, can you guys deny how great the Splinter Cell series, Halo series, Ninja Gaiden etc. looked? These games were all beautiful, but more importantly, involved the player. That's why I think this whole PS3 vs. 360 shit is all bullcrap, because honestly, neither one has blown me away. Hell if you want an example of story being more important than graphics, look how great the Morrowind and Indigo Prophecy games were. Has anyone here played Indigo Prophecy? It's a great game, but doesn't look the best. Now take a look a Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions, it looked stunning, and absolutely bombed.
