A single player as good as halo, a multiplayer as good as halo 2.
Not much to ask.
Well... I think even the multiplayer was better in Halo:CE
I thought the multiplayer levels were much cooler and the weapons varied more. Halo2's weapons were TOO balanced in a lot of respects, balance is important for fighting games because you don't want some characters always defeating others. but in FPS everyone starts off the same, a lack of weapon balance can be a good thing because it forces you to size up your opponent and make the decision to fight or flee, and how you fight or flee is also dependent on your weapon.
If nothing else the FOV made Halo 1 better; I feel like I'm playing in tunnel vision with H2.
If you had H1 with Live support and a few of the novelty features of H2 like dual wielding, vehicle stealing, etc. THEN I think you'd have a winner.
Of course I didn't really like either game. I owned my Xbox 1 for a good 6 months before I bought Halo and that's only because my friends begged me to get it (I hosted a lot of gaming parties). After that I only ever played it when they all came over and wanted to play... When Halo 2 came out I bought it because I knew it would be what everyone would want to play. While I at least had SOME fun with Halo1, Halo2 was a unbelievably boring by comparison (both single and multiplayer). After the first week or so I wouldn't even play it, even some of my FPS loving buddies would pop in Halo1 on occasion because it was more fun.
